I'm mostly using the "Search and Replace Events" thing for this, though it happens rather rarely that I'm in such a need. Anyway (sorry to say) I don't see much use for this utility at its current state. If it'd have a possiblity to search (tell the location of) those too though, it could surely come in handy. Obviously not all of them, I guess it'd kill a computer, but a chosen one event.

Well, this program could be useful, but I don't really us ethe search and replace thing anyway. Perhaps if you could expand it somehow, like showing coordinates for all instances of a specific event. Such as looking for all silver coins.
Or all the purple gems in devres.

What would be really nice is a general expansion of the Find & Replace Events feature. In particular I'd like to be able to mass-modify event properties (changing all the wind right events to speed 4, for instance).

A specific event's coordinates, is surely possible, and wont take that much additional resources,
the reason this takes so long , is because i read, semi for instance, 6700 times, But once i read, i already got the location of the event really, I only need to make some LOCAL calculations inside my program to get those coordinates, So... I'll probably make an option to chose a specific event, and then get all of it's locations...

I'm not really working on JCS, I'm making a program that handles jazz... A mass properties changer, sounds very possible though, I might work on that when I'm finished.

That's sort of what I had in mind. Perhaps if you could choose one specific event, and have all instances shown. Unless that's what you have already, in which case never mind. As an event viewer, though, I can't quite see the use. Isn't that what JCS is for? A program to run next to JCS like minmay said would be great, but as it is I can't quite see the purpose.

I'm going to try to make the scan extra fast, Maybe fast enough to make it scan all of the events, plus make it scan for coordinates... at the same speed
I'll need to check something.

EDIT:

I made the scanner scan a map which is about 950x250 resolution in less than a second... I'm done making it faster i guess :P
works great on tests.

I am not sure if this is possible, but could it work for Warp/Warp Target IDs too?
In major levels its easy to get lost. It'd be fun to be able to find specific warp/warp targets to see where they lead and if they're in use already.

Also, i made the program organize the scan results into folders...

Thats fine, it already helps a great deal knowing where what warp leads to . It also gives you an idea which warp IDs are in use.

Yeah, i couldn't figure out what to write there, they represent the warp instance of the ID... if there are four warps, all of them with the ID 0 it would be :
warp ID 0, Number 1
warp ID 0, Number 2
warp ID 0, Number 3
warp ID 0, Number 4

I guess "is used" makes no sense in that context, since you're counting them by their existence, not any in-built number.

But it could tell if there are any useless or crash-causing warp targets or warps, and perhaps some other events which can cause a crash.

Destruct/stomp/trigger/collapse scenery events on animated tiles containing at least one flipped frame, I suppose, though it's not hard to notice that such would cause a crash without the aid of an external program. Gem rings if there's ice in the level, perhaps.

my application scans the event buffer that jazz2.exe creates upon entering a level, I can't detect that right now, Maybe if i start working on JCS, which is not very likely right now :P, Sorry
