Could you perhaps put up the sites for the previous successful and failed editions too?

At the moment I have no suggestions, but I like the idea! Third time's a jj2wc3 charm

When would the season start?

Anyway, I'd say just one team per clan, with the best players obviously.

Suggestion: if some player is registered to play for (this is an example) Clan1, and later he joins Clan2, he will not be able to play for Clan2 and any other clans. I don't think anyone, except clanhoppers, will be against this rule.

I have already suggested to add BBlair and JE to the mappool, so I won't write about it once again, but I would like to suggest something else. I think the player limit - possibility to have roster up to 9 players - makes no sense and is just unfortunate. For such tournaments it is always better to have the opportunity to register as many clan members as possible. If I register [VS], I would like to register all VS'ers, because I don't know now, who might be needed when the tournament begins. I just want to have option to use all members and perhaps to give the chance to play to bigger number of people. So I suggest to resign from this kind of limited roster.

Ok, extended the player limit. Didn't expect it to be such a problem.

JE is a crappy level that is especially loved by noobs since they get very far just by camping the carrot, but atleast it's balanced

bblair would be disastrous unless both teams play as red one time each

This might happen in duels or 2on2, but I do not think it is a common practice in 3on3. Still JE is balanced and not campy, especially in comparison with NBlast or Zaitox. I do not say to exclude any level from the mappool, but just to add JE to it, as it has been one of the most populars levels in the clanwars for years and it turns out very well in competitive games (the same goes for BBlair).
And I think we want to have noob clans playing in the tournament, don't we?

Well, I agree that red team has advantage in BBlair, but red team has also advantage in Semi, and Semi is in the mappool, so I do not understand your point of view here. Especially, if we take a look into JJ2WC Rules: Both clans choose color on their opponent's maps.
The clan who chooses BBlair or Semi takes responsibility for it. Also I wouldn't overestimate the team colour. If you play better, you still can easy win at levels like BBlair or Semi, even when you play as blue team. Maybe with minor points advantage, but in JJ2WC a "map win" is important, not small points.

no, then we'd still be convinced that blue base had the advantage because of the little rts-chamber and because you can camp under base

Allright really, the maps suck and are obviously picked by someone (cough). Keep in mind this is a 3v3 tourney, some levels are way too small. Why don't you consider 3v3 levels like SBv2 MS and olcgolem. Also the Lori rule doesnt make any sense and is just to annoy, mostly, CDF members. Look at this:
8. Cheating and Abuse
Lori is not allowed.

Cheating and Abuse???
Lori is just a playable character in this game and has no advantages above other characters...

I agree with MasterSven. This tournament will work better out that way, and ''No lori'' rule? Nice way to annoy CDF, but believe me, it won't make us weaker.

WAIT!! If people use 1.23 in this tourney then I won't be playing. People can ABUSE that version by playing with the res hack program. People have been CHEATING with this program and by other ways in tournaments for a long time, I don't want to have anything to do with that again.

I totaly agree with CDF members. Lori is a TSF playable character, and if you use in some games where 'no lori' rule is not pointed out, it's not cheating. But r3p did a wrong thing when adding only Jazz and Spaz chars in this wc. TSF wasn't that popular some years ago. 1.23 was still playing. Nowadays it's different. There aren't much people who plays 1.23. I play it just when I host, otherwise I play TSF. Almost every server is hosted in TSF nowadays. Space, times are changed, try to understand it =( Please let the 3rd character being used in this wc.

EDIT: Reply to MS's message:

Agreed. It is still possible to play with reshack. I have a proof. There are a lot of cheats in 1.23 and 1.24. I know that much cheats, and if I think on it non-stop, I will probably make me stop playing JJ2. But I don't think on it that much. I just play against people who aren't cheaters (imo).

But seriously, lori?

Let everyone just chose their favourite character.
Some people are better with Lori because they always play with her.

I've actually played with Lori a lot to the point where I'm generally better with her in most levels. I can sort of use Spaz... I'm not really as comfortable with him though. And Jazz? Well...I don't find much use in uppercut really.

Or I misunderstood you and you were stating in that way because of how nonsense the rule was.

Somewhat off-topic: I actually find hosting in 1.23 a worse idea. You know, I would've been able to play as Lori in a somewhat recent-ish CW if the server was hosted in 1.24. There's a bug with soundfiles when Lori takes a C and causes the server to crash which only happens in 1.23. I won't go into too much detail or I'll confuse you people. But I don't think Vegito knew that back then.

No you didn't misunderstand me.
I've seen you use lori and you kick ass with her, so I shouldn't have used that tone.
Yet for a lot of levels lori is pretty worthless - JE being a prime example. Even CDF-ers switch for that level.
But hey... you guys want lori so bad... I don't care.

I think a handful of the mainstream levels aren't all the great for Lori (other examples are semi and DW although I can own others with using her sometimes). But once I look at *some* other lesser known levels she seems to be alright. I know I should really practice with Spaz more often for other levels but I just can't quite get the grasp of using him.

Two ideas I came up with that could improve JJ2WC, let me know if you can make them functional:
  1. An IRC bot that lets you know about live match results.
  2. Some kind of script that would convert stats from *.txt files (scores, assists and perhaps more stuff that JJ2+ wouldn't show).

The JJ2+ playlog will show most of this info so it should be pretty trivial, you'd just need to write a small program to parse it into whatever format you want. In CTF mode, each game will have a line like this for each player:

Code:
Name: something Team: Blue Points: 0 Roasts: 0 Deaths: 0 SDs: 0 Caps: 0 Scores: 0 Drops: 0
It also has stats for each game itself (scores, length, map, etc).

Assists are not shown, but I'm not sure what your definition for those is. You might have to parse the chatlog to find that info, but again, that's not too difficult if you know what you're doing.

Overall, almost all of the info you'd want is in the playlog.txt.
