Hey Risp, would you mind stopping overwritting your images? It messes stuff up if you're looking back on how did it evolve from Violet's first two tiles.

Little update here... still updating the whole image because the old water's just too ugly and spoils the look of the whole tileset. I updated it and gave the fire some tiles to be placed on.. I didn't really check whether those actually tile, but according to my calculations they..should. *scratches head*
Anyway. I'll post more later today, but right now my attention span is gone and... I'm not sure..
I used a lot of filters to make that water, so I guess the amount of colors in it is quite a lot bigger than it was before... I don't know how that's going to affect the palletting process of the tileset. I don't want to be responsible for messing that up, but I didn't find a way to reduce the colors in that area.
Also, according to Gimp, the dark color used in the metal pipes/wood is 0,0,0 , so wouldn't that make it transparent?

It used to be 0,0,1 but then the colors degraded after a while. I was going to fix all of the colors myself, but it can be fixed in PalSuite/TilesetPal when the time comes. PNG files aren't that great for making a tileset image, but it's the best choice for this kind of project.

A few changes. Damaged cavetiles added and ramp rocks improved.

I think the water Faw made is too blurry and has too many colors. Why not just use Colorize instead?

What I meant was that color reduction might be a pain with that water. The image already exceeded 900 colors last time I checked- not a good sign.

What this really needs is some background things. I propose misty nebula stuff in blue and green.

Also, on a minor note, I think we should change Risp's lasers to be the same color as Cooba's fire. They're the only yellow thing in an otherwise blue, green, red, and brown tileset.

On the contrary, I think it would look exactly the same in every way except with a different ground tile. And less people would have entered, because vines are fun.

The theme is what you think it is. The theme is what you make it. Currently, the only summission for a title is "Kansas"

So, basicly, add whatever you feel will fit, and if it doens't, then people will edit it and make it fit.

But I seriously think we should give it a fitting name like "Happy Land". "Fitting" as in "ironic", because this is just too weird to be taken too seriously.

I just did another image color count.

With Faw's water: 477 colors
Without Faw's water: 226 colors

I think we can work on reducing the colors even further. It's definately possible. And sorry about what I said Faw. My suggestion is to make the water use just 6 colors like the others. I know Violet can reduce the tileset's colors using TilesetPal, but any kind of color reduction, no matter how good, will end up looking bad with too many colors. And as far as I know, TilesetPal doesn't support dithering, so it will look even worse.

I recall Lark's example of how good Tilesetpal is using 1000-something colors. Of course this wasn't a tileset that was going to be zoomed in.

I personally prefer reducing colors in groups as opposed to all at once, but that might be more work than needed.

Also, Space Jungle Wasteland was sort of like a name suggestion (at least it seems like a more reasonable attempt then Kansas, but I have no idea what Violet was thinking), as well as Acidus and Cyborus. I'm leaning towards Acidus right now.

Uh, Kansas does, though.

I'd rather go for a more general name. For example "Space Jungle Wasteland" can be any space jungle wasteland, from "Kansas" to "Acidus". Meanwhile "Kansas" can only be Kansas.
