Super Smash Bros Gets a Bit More Jazzy

No, unfortunately this is not a full character pack yet.

A Super Smash Bros Hacker under the alias of "JazzJackrabbit" has begun working towards creating a slew of Jazz Jackrabbit mods for Super Smash Bros. As of August 17th, he released his first pieces, Jazz's Blaster and Jazz Jackrabbit ears.

I'm not sure whether LFG means "Large F***ing Gun" as a reference to DOOM, or "Light Flashing Gun."
And of course, a link for those of you with the homebrew channel and a texture loader on your wii:

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/Braw...&Moderated=All

Enjoy, Will post further additions as found

As for who this is, if it were a community member I would throw my guess at Pako, as he has Smash Bros modding as his signature. Otherwise no idea XD

"Sonic with a gun" is an old appellation. And I have no doubt it's a reference to Doom.

I am the guy who made those. I'm not making just Jazz items, just things that come to mind. I'd vertex Fox to look more like Jazz, but I don't have any tools to do that yet. I knew it was only a matter of time before those made it here.

Update:
I might try to recolor Fox to look like Jazz, and Falco to look like his gun-beaked bird. Unfortunately, school just started for me, so it might be a while.

I'm still pretty n00bish at this, but i'll offer a hand where i can. Also some suggestion I would pose would be:

-Recolour the Blaster's green bullets to yellow
-Model swap the blaster over the fire flower for the toaster attack
(I could possibly take a shot at these actually)
-Swap some sort of pokeball/AT out with liazrds/turtles

-This one might be hard but If we worked towards a more complex vertex hack, I think samus would be most appropriate for Jazz (Final smash, missles, electro gun) The electrical whipe and fire attacks would likely need modification. As for ZSS, Spaz would be ideal but Lori would work much easier. As i said, this is extremely ambitious XD

I think that we need to make a thread in miscellaneous for the 3 of us and any other Smashers to discuss these types of projects and smashing in general.

I thought I was the first one to do Jazz Jackfox, and they got it down to the name. (Great minds think alike I suppose)

I already did a lot of work over Fox. (I still need to fix the boot texture and the ears)
Samus would require a LOT of vertex hacking if Jazz is to look right, and she tends to freeze the game on using the final smash if using custom textures.

I downloaded the Jazz Jackfox and Devan Koopa files and opened them in BrawlBox. Quite honestly I think my textures will be more accurate to JJ1 and JJ2.

Im downloading these to try as we speak. Are you planning a Spaz/Lori/Devan as well?

As for your Jackfox, what programs are you using? is it just textures using ash and the revolution SDK, or will it have vertex hacks as well?

As for the Samus textures crashing, I've had no problems with that since i starte using File Replacement 3.5.1 , Prop hacks [phantom wings] and the Giga and Company codes through Brawl+ 7.0.2

As for where I stand in the hacking field, I've been thinking for a while to try and make a custom JJ stage. My current Candidates are:
- Custom Stage 1 --> Medivo
- Custom Stage 2 --> Castle
- Some assorted 2D stages (Diamondus, (-)(-)(-)(-)(-), Labrat)
This all depends on how busy I am between school and work of course

I use BrawlBox to open the files used by the game. Gimp to edit textures. I don't have the program to do the vertex hacks yet, so I can only do model swaps.
So far it's just Jazz over Fox and the basic turtles over the Koopa vertex hack of Yoshi.
Looks like it's a group project now if others are going to make Jazz-items.

Want to test the skins?
turtle Yoshi:http://www.mediafire.com/?8ftk6zi658f17bx
Jazz Fox:http://www.mediafire.com/?i378dwc7h8q9i2r
Please take screenshots, use Bin2Jpg, and send me pics. I can't right now. The best pics get on KC-MM.

Sorry for the double post. The post editor didn't let me use links, so I had to start new.

Yup i'll test these out right now. My Contributions will much more likely be stages, but im up for a group shindig. I cant say any pictures I take will be good, but i'll try.

EDIT: Okay, so I tried these both out. The Devan looks fantastic, although his legs kinda go through his shell, but that can be fixed eventually. Also, he looks a bit too happy, try adding his evil eyebrows. As for Jazz, it didn't seem to work for me. I don't have console availability tonight (with sisters and all), although it does look pretty good in BrawlBox. The Landmaster FinalSmash WILL need to be changed though. Just doesn't fit. I don't know how good at PSA you are but one of us could try partial moveset swaps on the Final Smash (and maybe that hexagonal shield).

Also, do remember to post credits to the original koopa vertex hack.

EDIT2: Tomorrow I'll start on the Castle Level

Images of Progress

For some reason I couldn't get any of the pctures to work, so try the links.
Quality is mediocre, considering i used my phone before noticing your Bin2jpb idea

Yes Mario, The "!" Blocks Fall

A Snappy Pose of SpyroTheDragon's Devan v1.

Everyone's Favourite Castle Spikes

The wheel is styled to the blue metal style of the Spikes, chains and pots in JJ2

A Fancier Stage Editor Item. The Blue will be fixed in v2.

Caution: Mario is Dancing

All floors should look like this rather than the plain tan in v2.

Ice is imported out of Inferno. Also, all blocks in v2. will have the same high res blocks as seen on the right hand side.

And so there you have it, Version one of Castle for Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Although you obviously can't hear it, the song "Pikmin 2 World Map" has been replaced with "Jazz Castle"

Those are some awesome pictures. I was kinda' hoping for decoded screenshots using Bin2Jpg.

For those of you who want to try using Bin2Jpg, (and you have an SD card) you canget it here
First, extract the .ZIP. Then drag the .BIN files into the new Bin2Jpg folder, then drag it onto the .BAT file (I think that's the one. If not, try the others.) All you need is the .JPG, so you can delete the .OUT file and the original .BIN.

PS: Where can I get that stage? MUST GET!!!

Any one want me to attempt Chuck the Quail? (the bird in JJ1 & JJ2)

K Bin2Jpg dled, I'll use that for the future. As for the download, That will likely be posted after Beta v2. is released with improved texture scaling/res and textures for Moving platforms, conveyors and springs. As school starts tommorrow here in Canada, expect Beta 2 Around Sept 10th.

After that I'll probably do up Medivo for Stage Editor, followed by A full 2D stage for Heck and Labrat.

I also Approve

As for your Jazz, might I suggest:
A more appropraite hexagonal shield colour
More appropraite Flames (reddy green like the JJ3 speed effect)

and look into a recolour for foxes red blaster bullets?
