We all know you're just jealous. I could make better characters than you with enough time. And I don't have a palette editor so either shut up or somebody close this thread. I don't need unwanted criticism about something only Cooba has seen. So either help, or go away.

(I am really getting annoyed yet I'm mature enough not to keep fighting like a kid, I hope you can find that you can do the same.) (Lemme guess. PA. If it is, PA DanYjel. Becuase he said what he means outright.)

And I know you can extract individual frames, but I like it when I have what I need laid out in front of me. It makes it possible to find what I need. (And who thinks I should be a lawyer?)

Pageclaim in the name of my Lawyerness!

Derby: Flame tag removal. Avoid coaxing others into fighting you.

EDIT:I don't get where exactly I was, "coaxing others into fighting you," or where I flamed.

...it is!
Honestly, this is your project, so you should expect to actually put a little work into it, even if that work is nothing more than taking frames out of .gif animations.
And why don't you have a palette editor exactly?

Because the only one I could find that isn't trial and has a very bad layout of tools has a broken download that nobody has!

And I spent 3 days just fixing one bug!

(And how did I coax and flame in my previous message?)

Thanks for the palette editor info! Enough of it please. I just need those sprites so I can make Spaz and Lori.

EDIT: I also found out my image editor can't look at each frame in an animation (since nobody will help) so tell me one please! (I have Corel Photopaint 6 if you must know.)

Dear ZAPPER: If you have version 1.23, then please download a copy of FeindMM's wonderful Sprite Viewer and rip the sprites for Spaz yourself.
If you do not wish to, then why should anyone else wish to rip them for you?
Ripping takes no skill at all and the program only makes it easier.
EDIT- Gamemaker allows you to look at each individual frame, and with some copy and pasting you can reassemble the sprites into a sheet.

If you have the sprites as an animation, why on earth would you want to put them into a sheet? Sheets just meen you have to copy, paste, and align each frame.

Apparently Icy Towers does not use animations, which is why Zapper has been asking for sprites.

Why would he make such comments unless he though he could do better? And that was a double post. Oh, and nOOb, maybe you should pay attention now because I'm only saying it now:

I COULD USE SOME SPRITE REFERENCES FOR THE SPRITE EXTRACTER

It's in bold so people can see it.

1373 - Marks the beginning of the Spaz sprites.
2050 - Last of the Spaz sprites, only to begin the sprites of the small songbird that Spaz eats and the small spaceship that he shoots. For those that have never stood still for more than a few seconds, they're used in idle animations for Spaz.

Hi there To introduce myself (well, some ppl already know). I finally registered here. I wanted to do it liek 2 years before, but I didn't. I turned away Jazz and lived another live. Well, this topic has brought me "back", so go to it.

Well, what I've seen, the Jazz character is... bad? Is it the right word? In English? Actually, sounds are so-so. Music is quite good. Jazz lost his color, his fur. The flashing colors are true flash of noobishness (is that a word?) (everyone experienced that, even I did). I don't really care. It's one of the better half of IT chars ever made. Anyway, it's the big Jazz, so I wanted it to be better. Dunno if it's really THAT better, at least, it's loseless. Here it comes, my version of Jazz Jackrabbit character (92 kB):
http://www.icytower.cz/download/post...jackrabbit.zip
I'm using the same sounds and music as Zapper's character. I'll change them if I get better ones. Gimme if you desire so.

As far as I've seen the Spaz screenshot, it looks nice. I like it. It'll stay untouched.

Making Lori character is in my might, I just have to grab some time to make her (* wonders how Dan will read this sentence *). I have the sprites in a quite unfriendly way, exporting is no problem.

Long for first post. Sorry if I insulted someone, I surely didn't want to. Believe or not, I do.

Looks like I'll have to float around and make soem posts, if I'll have something to say.

See ya guys (and gals). I press the button now.

Zapper, you don't have a copyright on 'Icy Towers Character deveolpment'
It's like saying "Great, everyone else is making JJ2 levels. Now mine is ruined."
Also, I beilve Pyro's spaz character was made before you even started.
And it seems in a short while John is farther along in progress, and showing the public his character so they can actually judge it. Sorry if that sounds discouraging
Good work John.

n00b is right. btw, Thanks ^^

My character is separate from your project. It's reasonable that popular characters have more remakes. I saw at least 5 Sonic the Hedgehogs (and made one) and at least 20 different Marios! It's up to you to choose who-to-play-with.

Once the school part of the week is over, I can continue the progress of making Lori (that reminds me, Dan, how I'll make her ). I planned lots of work this weekend, though. It's not that I'll have so much work, I'm rather lazy Well, expect another release this weekend.

Cooba: Are the sounds coming? I can't hear them.

OK, as I promised, I made some work on Lori character. I am terribly low on resourced and will to get new. I really didn't have any jump frames

Lori Jackrabbit (beta 1)
First my public beta of Lori. No sound, strange frames. I really don't know if the text palette is good. I think the violet part is way too aggressive to the orange part.
I'd be pleased if someone could support me with sounds/bgm. I'll add credit ^^

I'll delete all the beta files after the char will be finished. This is first time I'm making a character in this way. Before, I was always the only tester

If you want more of my characters, you can get all the officially released ones here.

And I liked Icy Towers. But Cooba had no right to give it to John, because it was a beta. NOT PUBLICE BETA. I hate a lot of you, and that's too bad. Yet what is with everybody!? The project is now officially John's because of 2 particular users. So, darn it. I hate this.

Hey, don't give up yet. You can still make rest of your characters, and make them better than I. I dunno. If I knew it was a beta the time I asked for it, I wouldn't ask for it. All I knew was the the char was flashing (I read it somewhere), and that was enough for me.
I'm really sorry for that.

I'm shutting up till next release or next post or something like that.

Oh, I'm not working on it, thank DanYjel and Cooba for that. Cooba should have informed you that it was beta like I told him. It wasn't publisher's beta which I would've sent you. I've had bad expieriences on this thread. If you're polite, kind, helpful, and do things differently, watch your step... cause this place is a minefield.

What is your malfunction? It doesn't matter if John has a Jazz character done, you can still have a second Jazz. As John said, there are 50 mario charatcers for icy tower. Did the creator of the first mario icy tower character shoot himself when he found out someone else made another mario? NO! So don't give up, you'll only be commiting creative suicide and you'll gain nothing more than an imcomplete life!
EDIT- And f you give up now, you'll only be letting Dan and Cooba win! What, let the commies win soildier?! Don't die for china! Do it for America!
-Note: I was only impersonating a stereotypical general, and do not mean anything against commies, dan, cooba, or china. I do however, have an extreme dislike for general's socks. Smelly things those are.

Zapper, I didn't finish your character. I just made another one. Look at the frames - they're almost all different. One the other hand, I am not going to make Spaz unless I'll be forced to. I saw the screenshot, it rocked. Wish I had the char
I'm trying to keep Icy Tower alive... And it won't die with or without Jazz. It just rock a lil more with Jazz.

blah-blah.

Besides, Zapper, I gave JB the Jazz character because he was curious about. After a while he decided to make a new one and I gave him sprites. So there.
