Parks generally are in cities... Twilight Park has a nice cityscape for layer 7, and it's not even used here.

Tho I bet if this was one of Snooze's levels you'd say "Best looking spring system EVAR"

Also, Parks are just as generally in suburban areas with no cityscape in sight.

Hmph, Jimbob, it looks okay as of now. I recommend looking at some past levels using that tileset, to get some ideas and maybe mix those and yours together to make it better. Good luck.

Some people seem to enjoy replying to my posts almost always even if they lack anything of point to say.

Funny, I could say the exact same to your reply. My point is that you just seem to be nitpicking at extremely worthless details. "Springs look boring"? Again, seriously? On both an eyecandy and gameplay front, this seems like a very, very, extremely minor issue and more that you're just looking for excuses to speak ill of Jimbob's levels than anything else.

We don't need this fight. Back on topic plz.
I'm liking the look of the Kingston Warfare. Does it only appear when you are drunk? I'm not sure how you could get that to work, but it would be pretty awesome.

More Stuff from me, This time it's a single player level. I might put it in a level pack.

It's name is "Botany Research 409-A1".

.

^This part of the level is in one of the more Greenhouse-like areas.

^This is one of the Storage areas, where they store junk.

And Frozen isn't out yet 'cuz it's for a levelpack :P

...And to the topic of Kingston warfare, i think the background is fake.

Oh no, it's definetely real.

Nice level, seems fun to play. I've always liked that (JJ1) tileset, though I can't remember its name at the moment.

Violet: No, the background is like that all the time, but it looks completely awesome in 8bit with the dizziness effect

The placement of the trees in the blue rock seems wrong. If there are trees, why isn't there any grass then?
Nice to see that you're using two front layers for eyecandy.

There is, though the author deleted it from J2O after it was blasted for having bad colors, no background to speak of, and a problematic mask. Or I guess there's Ice Wolf's version too, but, uhh, yeah.

Slightly improved screen shot of my level:

Isn't it weird that the sucker tube looks a little bit like a 3?
P.S.: Too bad the stars don't show on these... :(
P.S.2: Also, the park in the bg is still there. It's just a bit too hard to see.

The sucker tube looks weird, gj.
Also, good job putting more stuff into the background.
The streetlight looks weird too.

The picture, gives me an odd feeling that we're looking at a hill that descends towards the horizon because the buildings are so low...

But this ain't bad, keep on progressing.

Well, about my level...
I've decided to trash it because the layout wasn't going too well and it was too small and a little bit too platform-y. I have started a new level using the same tileset and going by the same name. However, instead of being battle mode, it's going to be CTF, which is my favorite game mode.
(screenshots will be here soon )

Approximately CTF levels get more attention than battle levels, so good idea. CTF is also the better gametype quite clearly.

I do agree though that CTF levels seem to get more attention. A really good battle level can be just as popular/famous though, however it seems that for a battle level to be played often it needs to be relatively better than a CTF level.

I prefer CTF over Battle, but Battle levels are often played as Team Battle now. And Team Battle can be fun with many people. Battle levels can be fun to make, because you don't have to make it balanced.

Battle levels are often easier to make, for instance because (as DS said) they don't need to be that balanced. This gives the levelmaker a lot more freedom choosing the layout and making the placement.
And Stijn, hold a CTF vs. Battle poll to see what I mean.

I thoght balance levels are easier to make, cuz you can just do the same layout with diffrent PUs on the other side and that will be ok.

Do you make levels? :l
Also, I do find battle levels harder to make, and I believe they have to be higher quality to be considered the same quality as another ctf level.
