But then you'd set up rules to disallow MP3s being uploaded to the site, you see.

I'm tired of people like you who want to go to excessive lengths to keep newer players from playing in other servers.

JJ2+ should have a /mute-like command that does not show the victim that he has been muted, so he can keep spamming all he wants but WHAT HE DOESN'T KNOW IS THAT NO ONE WILL SEE IT...

like /nmmute <number> (that doesn't show the mute message to that client but it does for everyone else)

It would be cool if there was a server/admin command that muted a player for everybody in the server. Sometimes people are annoying but not annoying enough to ban or kick. Plus it's a nice way to to tell people you hate them.

When the server enters /mute, AFAIK it does mute them for the whole server, doesn't it?

As far as I know, it's supposed to. At least, the documentation says it does.

But it's so much fun to swear at/abuse eachother

That sounds like a good idea, but maybe it should have set words instead? We wouldn't want people to replace good with (-), the player being complimented will think they're being insulted.

So let's re-implement more features. How about some single player features? /save 3 saves the game in slot 3, /load 2 loads the game in slot 2, /aw gets you all weapons and /powerup powers them all up. Additionally, /shield 2 gets you the lighting shield and /shield 4 gives you the laser shield. /shieldtime 60 gives you one more minute before time runs out, not a re-implementation but cool anyway.

Oh, yeah, don't forget about /insertcoin that switches to splitscreen, takes one of your coins, inserts them into the new screen part and spawns a second player there. If you want one more player, just type /insertcoin again. You could use /insertcoin 3 to pass one of your lives to player 3 if player 3 has run out of lives. Using /list in local games and LAN games throws them onto the net, /unlistlan unlists an internet game and switches to LAN-only, having all players outside the LAN time out after a few seconds.

Even better: make it so if there is a certain byte in a j2l file set a certain way, jj2+ makes it impossible to use cheats in that level in single player >:)

While I see no problem goofing off in a level with cheats upon completing it, it completely ruins the challenge if you use cheats the first time through. Quite unfortunately, some players do partake in the latter ruining the originally intended experience.

There's nothing really wrong with cheating in SP. And I'd never, ever do something extreme like that to block it, because that would just annoy people. I just think it's a funny idea. I do think that when people play a level for the first time they should use no cheats, though.

I do put things in levels to trap cheaters. Booby trapping coin warps is fun.

@blur: I don't know why this happens, but whenever my server is up for a while (~1 - 2h) and I go into spectator mode it often shows off to the right of the player I am spectating or sometimes it even goes off screen.

Yup, have the same problem here. While Forest's spectator mode had the same bug, you could fix it with Forest by putting a solid tile at pos (0;0), but this does not seem to fix the bug for JJ2+.

And.. OOH *WHOOSH* ADMIN PASS REVEALED! haxorz time XD

It might as well be mentioned here.

In single player, insta-kill pits using ctf bases are broken in JJ2+. This breaks several levels, and is very annoying. I am currently working on an update to my level packs so this problem is corrected, but it's still annoying to work around, especially when warps are involved. And I'm betting that if the problem in JJ2+ ever is fixed, the fix I am making will just wind up killing players twice.

I want to know two things. 1. Is this going to be fixed? 2. And if it does get fixed, will that make the player die twice with the edit I'm making to my levels?

If the answer to 2 is yes, or even maybe, I'm not even going to bother fixing the levels. Instead I'll just put a big warning saying "DON'T USE JJ2+". Of course that won't look too good, and I wouldn't like to do that since I would prefer to support JJ2+ rather than tell people not to use it.

EDIT: Jeez, forgot that you can still fall into those pits I'd prefer to lose a life if I fall in, though. Not a good hint after all =(

1. Yes.
2. Apparently not, though it's probably not a good idea to do both.

I should mention that while JJ2+ doesn't really focus on Single Player, I'd still like it to work properly. So point out SP bugs if you see them.
