Another Tubelectric remix? What is this? Mid-1994? Are we all still all playing the shareware demo? There ARE other tunes to remix… ;P

==================Simple Review==================
Base Score: 5/10

Point Bonuses: +2
[+2] Well, despite being a Tubelectric remix, I have to say this is pretty epic nonetheless.

Point Deductions: -2
[-1] Those strings (at 0:31) SUCK compared to the rest of the samples! Even so, I KNOW they can be used a LOT better than that.
[-1] It just kind of…dragged on after a while.

Final Score: 5/10
=================Extended Review=================
Introduction:
As stated, it’s YET ANOTHER Tubelectric remix. Am I the only one getting tired of hearing Tubelectric every other music upload? Maybe… Maybe… Still, this at least somewhat unique.

Song Analysis:
I’m not altogether sure what to say. It’s an electronica remix of Tubelectric. Heavy on the “electronica”. Not a bad concept, and really, I’ve heard FAR worse…and in fact, I can’t say I’ve heard better. But somehow, it still just kind of falls apart.

Sample Analysis:
I think the strings sample (spotted around 0:31) could have been used far better… Throwing that in with the rest of the samples, which are of such higher quality and sound beautiful, just throws off the parts of the song the strings are actually in, in my opinion.

Final Analysis:
I know it’s a “dance mix” of Tubelectric, but despite the variations that pop up every minutes or so, I found it pretty boring to listen to after about three minutes. One can only take so much of the same ol’ same ol’ before one goes insane. Seriously though, I had to shut it off after I listened to it twice because it just started to sound like noise to me. Not the good kind, either. I know Danyjel put a lot of effort into this file, but the flaws are just too glaring for me to rank it above average. Still, it’s worth a listen upon occasion…

At the risk of getting beat-up in the parking lot outside of Shoney’s, I’m going to review one of Danyjel’s pieces of music again. Bear with me. This could get MIGHTILY ugly.

==================Simple Review==================
Base Score: 5/10

Point Bonuses: +1
[+1] Strong start! Very pretty lead-in for the song…

Point Deductions: -1
[-1] …but that’s about it.

Final Score: 5/10
Everything else is pretty bland. In short, it’s “just another Crysilis arrangement” which has nothing new to offer.
=================Extended Review=================
Introduction:

Song Analysis:
The song kind of leads you into a false sense of security. It starts off strong with a beautiful piano melody, but it doesn’t take very long for it to slip into a crystal-induced coma. What I mean by that is that basically, it’s your average, run-of-the-mill Crysilis arrangement. That doesn’t mean it’s a BAD piece of music, mind you. On the contrary, it’s a very FINE piece of music. An improvement on the source material, but ultimately, it’s also nothing to write home about…

Sample Analysis:
The samples are (no pun intended) crystal clear and very pleasing to listen to. The samples are also used very well, helping improve on the source material while retaining the feel of the original tune.

Final Analysis:
It’s definitely worth a listen and I could easily see this working in a crystalline stage of some kind, be it Crysilis or somewhere else.

No,it does NOT deserve a 10!!!!!
But, it’s more than a 1….

Level was fairly boring, with basically a lonnnnnnnnng drop with nothing to do but sit and watch until the warp brings you back to the top, for more drops. I dunno, I have this thing in real life about sudden, long drops, and this game does not help it at all. The credits go by waaaaaay too fast to read, the only name I caught [because I buttstomped] was Blacky, and each name appears for about 2/3 of a second. Then there’s nothing.
Music was hilarious. Eyecandy was not. No laughing matter, it had two teal and red pipes, two blue pipes, a black bg, and zip elsewhere. Very unfun!
No DL rec, but I’ll be nice and give you a 3.5, because at least it’s playable, and it looks halfway decently allright.

It’s not a bad song. It’s got a good feel.

Your not repetative, it uses plently of different notes while sticking with a repetitve beat which is hard to pull off, but you did it well. It makes better background music then just listining to it stright forward.

If this was usable for Jazz, I would use it as a finil Song (Like after the climax of the game). So, I don’t know how you can change it for jazz, but if you could that would be great.

As for downloading, you can if you want to, but if you don’t you won’t be missing too much. so…N/A

Intro:

Well, looks to me like a nice techno… rave…stringy song. Sounds quite rhythmic and good at the beginning.

Song:

As we get further into the song, we lose a few instruments, and by 12 we get an opening into what i think is an intermission or something. I wouldnt quite say i like this part because the synthbass and the bells were wayoff from eachother. Maybe setting the bells at a different transpose or something would work better. After that, we get into a core segment of the song with nice square bass samples playing in a rhythmic tone. This is good because they play fluently with the ear. The bells come back in, souning not quite as off tune as before but then start going berserk…:P

Sounds kinda strage but cool in a way.

Samples:

The samples used in this tune were a good selection because they all tie in with eachother quite nicely. I like the square strings and the synthbass sample

Overall:
I think this was a good song to listen to over all. A dit of a different or unique song from what I have heard.

(+)Samples
(+)Melodies used
(+)Good beat and rhythm
(+)Length
(-)Sounding offtune at about 14
(-)A bit repetative at times

Download Recommendation:

Sure if you are into scary dark techno:P

A music review… Never done one before…

Pros:
This is an interesting song with a suspenseful beginning. It has a very good beat, and has some nice repetition. The instrument choice kinda reminds me of Final Fantasy, but also of Mechawarrior or James Bond. One or more of the instruments seemed to be a choir. Surprisingly it fit in. Overall, kinda dark, but still has a slight appeal.

Cons:
Unfortunatly, a few things were less than perfect. Some parts of rhythms overlapped, in a bad way. It didn’t really fit. There was also too much repetition at a few parts, and sometimes it just doesn’t feel right (“xylophone” 10 times is too much. There was a a strange use of what felt like “James Bond” but was also felt deep. These feelings conflicted.

Overall: 6
An okay song, but I wouldn’t really want to hear it as I kill lizards and turtles.

Download Reccomendation: I can’t say, because it depends for what. Listening? No. Shoot-em-up level? No. Something like Cracco Land of Golden Coins? Maybe.

NOTE: Updated to follow rules and suggestions of Fquist. Sorry ‘bout that.

Well Dany, u really did well on this one…Once more

The first few seconds really got me into is with the techno drums. If you have alot of bass, u will alsoo hear the disco type tune. Not really into doin a full review at the moment but it is a really good song.

Some parts however kinda fell off track and didnt fit in well with the rest of the song. Right at at 3. 30
I dont know…. anyways…Good song… Good download

Keep it up!

First impression: Wow.
The song begins with quite original drum beats, which switch quite fast. Then the real tune starts. At first, I wasn’t really sure what the remix was, really. But then the familiar tubelectric theme came in, but very well redone. It fit well into the intro (which remotely reminded me of the saw in Chrysilis, somehow, though they are very different). These two then interchanged for a long time. At about 3:25 the sound got a tad worse, but this quickly ended, and in came a slightly square pad-ish part (which came from the intro bass in Tubelectric). This then continued back into the part that came before the bad part, but with minor differences. The song ended in the same style as the Tubelectric theme was introduced.
Pros: Much remixed, and original (+0.5). I like the trance-ish style of the Tubelectric (+0.2), which slightly reminds me of the Deckstar remix by Luigi Elettrico.
Cons: I didn’t really like the part at 3:25. Just didn’t fit in with the rest, IMO. (-0.2)
Overall: A very good tubelectric remix; one of the best out there.
A whopping 9 points.

Well, I didn’t know about savefile.com, thanks for it, I’ll reupload it. The reason why I used rapidshare is that there’s no delete time (except for inactive files, same with savefile).

Thanks for telling me about Savefile, once more. And thanks for review, Cruk!

RapidShare sucks. I type in the CORRECT code, yet it still says I typed it in wrong. May I suggest a different site?
How about www.megaupload.com or www.savefile.com?

Anything BUT RapidShare.

@Danyjel: No Problem. :)

I like the music. But, I dunno how to review music. It can’t be used in JCS as it’s MP3 format.

Intro…

Nice trancy technoey song :o… I like it.

Well, the song starts out with the techno organ thing, which sounds nicely cut off with a quick fade out. Then a bassline starts out.. Which sounded quite odd tuune and blurry. It sounds a tad bit too loose and drags on. It needs a bit of a cut off.

The organs overpower most of the song, other than the bass which can get pretty annoying after a little while. The drums could be a little louder than they are now, because they sound good, and would like to hear more of them.

The length of it is good, a nice 7 mins, worth listening to.

I recommend downloading.

Hmmmmm… Interesting song by Danyjello! Pretty catchy too.

So anyways, the beginning seems to start out with a strange blubbering sounding thingy which I don’t know how to describe… trippy I guess. Then a drumbeat starts pumping out along with a few louder techno bass drums and some beaty hi-hats. I seem to notice ur into alot of percussion:P.

SO anyways, I didn’t quite like the synth bass choice, it sounded quite out of the blue, and a little bit distorted. I did however like the background sounds of the bonus lvl song and the melody. It changed son scale which sounded pleasant to the ears

The song overall was good and a bit catchy, I liked it and I recommend you download it.

Maximal score is: 10 points.
The song has very good variations and fitting melodies: -0.0 points. The bassline could be make better in this case: -1.5 points.
Too much background samples played at once on center panning, you should use some chords, then your song would sound really awsom ;) So -0.5 points.

Dude. Use, like… I dunno. Anything else but RapidShare. I think even YouSendIt might be a better idea. Anyway…

Introduction:
Is bigger truly better? Does size matter? Can a 6MB file that’s 6.5 minutes long be all that it can be before 6AM, or will it have to be eighty-sixed with a six-shooter then deep-sixed in six seperate lakes? What does that even mean?! Read on…

Song Analysis:
What the Heck is this? This doesn’t seem to sound anything like any Jazz Jackrabbit song I’ve ever heard. Yes, the unused Menu Theme loop is in there, but for the most part, this is just generic dance music. Not even good dance music at that. Where’s the meat? It’s all drums and bassline. That’s boring. It needs lyrics.

Sample Analysis:
All the samples sound just fine to me. Just some general dance samples, drums, “pops,” synths, and basslines.

Final Analysis:
This…isn’t Jazz Jackrabbit, no matter how many samples you put into it. I think everyone’s just too polite(or otherwise) to point this fact out. As such, I’m not going to rate it. If I were to rate it, however, I’d probably give it a 4.7 due to the fact it’s so bland. Like unseasoned ground beef.

Score: N/A(Not a Jazz File)
”?!” Points: N/A(Not a Jazz File)
Total Score: N/A(Not a Jazz File)

Recommendation?:
No. Plain and simple.
