Hell Freezes Over (F | 476.36 kB | 26 May 2006 |
Since Castle Funk, I have suddenly made creating funk music a hobbyâŠ.
This is my second funk remix and is of âHell freezes overâ used in the frozen inferno levels. This one doesnât use as many samples as âCastle Funkâ and isnât as big, but still uses 47 samples and is actually 20 seconds longer. Again the samples come from âSecond timeâ and âSystem 51â.
Until the next mix, enjoy!
EDIT: Some of the bass come from the Colonius song.
Another cool funk by FearOfDark on Hell freezes over!
This is a good remix it is similar to CastleFunk which i also liked.Itâs way better than the original song and i donât know why i would give less than 10 with dl rec!

First off, let me begin by saying, immense improvement on the ending. Unlike Castle Funk, this remix doesnât grind to a screeching halt at the end, it just gradually slows itself down.
You are much better at producing Funk music than rock, which seems immensly ironic. In fact this song feels so perfect, the only things I thinka re wrong with it are thatâs itâs a bit too hard to tell itâs âHell Freezes Overâ at times, and sometime the samples feel a bit too loud for my liking.
Keep it up, Download reccomended
good job man, this remix is just great, realy this is the best funk music i heard including castle funk. the bit of the song in the beginnig plays softly with if iâm not mistaken a guitar and it sounds beutiful, after the soft beginning the song starts to play much like âhell freezes overâ and this the best part of the music. the beutiful thing about this tune is that there are parts that seem not to apear in the original song but they combined in a very good style with the song (it starts in 1:50). for conclusion i want to say that this tune is worth the download so go and download it and listen to it becouse this tune is great. by the way, i hope that Fear Of Dark will continue make this tunes becouse they are great.
I probably suck, but I just donât like it.
The lead samples are extremely high-pitched, it kills my ears, really. Lead also doesnât fit into the rest of the tune. Funky beat is really nice, I like it, background is okay. Bass is okay in most parts. Thing I love about this are transitions; beat ends, long lead, bass changes. I also like the break patterns with that cool funky sound :). Time by time, it sounds pretty off key, and when there are parts when the tune sounds like nothing more than loudnessâŠ
Anyway, itâs really above-average mix and I do recommend download.
I really loved castle funk. This remix from the Hell Freezes Over music is quite similiar in terms of style and instrumentation, which is the first drawback. I had hoped it was a little darker (more like the original) and also something new, but at some points I thought it was just an altered castle funk version. It also took a while till I noticed the Hell Freezes Over melody.
I think this tune would fit well in some levels, but not those actually using the frozen hell tileset it was meant for. Still, quite funky again and itâs a good song to listen to. Not what I was hoping it would be, but worth the download.
Final Rating: 7.2, download recommendation

I just liked to say, you make awesome remixes, and in jazz format, so we can add some good musics to our levels! YAY! Make more >:]
Introduction:
Now this is an extremely funky rendition of âHell Freezes Overâ which sounds as though it has bits of âJazz Be [Darned]â thrown in for good measure. So letâs measure how goodâŠor bad this is.
Song Analysis:
As far as I can tell, this sounds like what youâd get if you merged Jazz and Funk.(âŠno, I donât mean âJunkâ.) In fact, it reminds me quite heavily of âAwakening Roadâ from the âRockman X Arrangedâ soundtrack.(Which was basically Rockman X music jazzified.) The song itself seems like it has bits and pieces of âJazz Be [Darned]â thrown in just for kicks. Either that, or I need to listen to âHell Freezes Overâ more closely.
The arrangement is more or less recognizable, but I sincerely doubt it could sound any better than it does even if it relied more heavily on the original track for its notes and whatnot.
Sample Analysis:
Thereâs no dirty samples here whatsoever. Lots of awesome guitars of varying types(which I might swipe later [shifty eyes]) and some really nice drum samples as well. Everything sounds terrific together and not a single note sounds out of whack or out of tune.
Final Analysis:
All and all, itâs a damned fine track that any Jazz(or Jazz) lover would appreciate fully. There are so many good things I could be saying about this, but words fail me. Utterly. There is no reason not to give this piece full marks. At all. It fades in wonderfully, loops perfectly, and is absolutely great to listen to. Iâm not entirely sure it would work as level music, but I canât see why not. This is definately going on my MP3 player next time I shift things around.
Score: 9.0
âI Canât Think of Any Reason Not to Give This a 10.0â Points: 1.0
Total Score: 10.0
Recommendation?:
Yea, verily. Download this and listen to it if you havenât yet. You will totally not regret it.
Notice of Mention:
Congratulations on getting the very first 10 Iâve ever given out! The sad thing is now Iâm going to expect this kind of quality from you with everything you make. XD

Well, I thought Iâd never see the dayâŠ
Very nice job, good quality overall, nice, upbeat tune ti it, but like n00b said, it is a little hard to tell what it is at points.
BBUUTT TTHHAATTââSS OOKKAAYY..
Itâs not too complex, has a good beat, and I would greatly recommend downloading.
