Description

No, my finger didn’t accidently slip and selected Single Player.
No, this isn’t some sort of event test.
No, you are not dreaming.
Yes, I did make a single player pack!
Well, now that we got that sorted out, allow me to start. You have no idea how good I feel. As a matter of fact, my head is growing to extreme proportions while I am typing this. Not because I think this pack is good or anything in that line (that is for you to decide), but because I actually made a single player pack! Never in my life did I think I would have the dedication needed to even attempt making a single player pack, let alone make one!
Anyways, before I get into a speech cycle there I guess I should (forcefully) change the topic a little bit to explain about the pack. It started out as a little idea to make one big single player level. However, I soon realised that it would have to be two levels because there just wasn’t enough text events. After finishing the first level (and gloating about it for a countless amount of time), I started working on the second level. The ‘Big One’, the one where talking is over and playing is everything. I thought a 300×300 canvas was going to be big enough, but I was wrong and it soon changed to something even bigger. Of course, half way through the level I got another idea, I was going to make a THIRD level! Of course that idea was kept in my head until I finished the second level, or at least I thought so.
I’ve always designed multiplayer levels in a rather strange way, something which I would regret now. I would make the entire level in layer 4, finishing drawing it without testing it once, and then, at the very end, place the events last. Oh boy what a big mistake that was. A little past half way in placing the events (and excessive testing during that time) I got a dreaded message telling me I placed too many events. At first I wanted to thin the events out, but that wasn’t near close enough. Luckily I was close to a save point and made that the end of the level, removed all the events, and moved on with the level in another filename with a fresh start. The third level (actually fourth now because level two is two levels full) was a breeze after the second one, and didn’t take too long. At long last the pack was finished!
Now for an actual description (yes, finally!). All the levels use the official jungle tileset (if you haven’t figured it out from the name already). I’m sorry but even though I DESPERATELY wanted to use some mods I don’t have the internet to download them with, which is why you’re stuck with default music and stuff. I’m not exactly sure how hard this is supposed to be, it all depends on how good you are at killing witches. Yes, it does get tougher as you go along (as does every pack I hope). And I…uhhh…I KILLED THE FINAL BOSS ONCE!! WITHOUT CHEATS!! IT IS POSSIBLE!!! I DIT IT ONCE!!! Heh, I’m glad that’s off my chest. You need some miraculous form of luck or extreme madskillz in dodging if you wanna beat him, or I’m just EXTREMELY rusty at JJ2. Well, I suppose the last bit to add is the storyline: “Rabbits far and wide have heard of your victory over Devan. One such Rabbit has travelled weeks to reach you. At the near reaches of insanity, all you can make out from his confused mumblings is that nature itself is attacking his village in the jungle, and you’re the only one left that can help. When you reach the village, hordes of moneys have taken over the village, and you have to fight to regain it. This is only where the story starts, and you’re left to discover the rest…

opens eyes widely Disguise trying SP? Oh well…here goes…

The length of the levels is very good, it takes some while to run trough it, also, nice puzzles have been added to make you scratch your head from time to time. However, the real difficulty of the pack does not come from the puzzles, is comes from the way too big amount of baddies placed, and it really gave me the feel I was just an automated Fire-button-press device…
The eyecandy, to be honest with you all, just sucks. Well ok, it doesn’t suck suck..but it sucks. Way too empty, try to add a more jungle feel to it, use way more bushes, trees, flowers, rocks, moths etc. etc.
I think the real single player freaks may be rather dissapointed with this pack, but the rest (I think) will think it is just fine as a break from the battle-madness…Try to improve your SP-skills, then come back for a second go. For now, go back to tilesets again, Wisey, those rock. ;)

This is great. Not only does it base itself on the most underused enemy of all time, (which nobody likes) (the witch) it uses them superbly in one of the most original bosses I have ever seen.

The levels do not have many secrets, but when there are some, they’re good. While I do resent being called nosy because I like flying around as a bird, it is nice to be awarded an RF powerup for braving a little hard work. (Go ahead, try to find both of those places!)

There are some very nicely thought out areas, like in level 2, where you must keep choosing a path. Sadly, the pathes don’t have all that much variety.

A nice 8.2 to Disguise, the grand HIC of BURP.

WOW! This was a really fun level pack! There could have been a few more levels to it, but other than that it was pretty awesome!
An 8.2 for you! And you deserve it!

Cool, fun, exciting, hard. Cool words to describe this level. I managed to finish this though I found a few bugs. Well this level was Evil and annoying at times. But overall, fun!

This is a great level pack. Disguise making single player is not as bad of an idea as you might think. ;-P

Everything was very good. There were few eyecandy errors, and I didn’t get stuck much. The tileset was used well, and the levels were very fluid. The only complaint I have is the overuse of enemies. I would have preferred more complex puzzles instead. Still, this is a great single player pack and I hope Disguise will make more one-player levels. Certainally, this deserves a download recommendation.

Lets start with the good points.
The story of the levelpack is very nice, and logic. The characters of the story are also well made. The enemies are sometimes overused, but there are many cool puzzles. The difficulty is hard, sometimes to many witches for comfort. The eyecandy is also cool, some good tricks used. Most levels are long and dont get boring as fast.Lots of creativity is included

Tha bad points:
To musch enemies take away soem points. It looks real ugly when to much enemies are huddled in one place. Not enough goodies and pickups arre icnluded, needs more. It is to difficult without the pickups.

Still very good IMO, but not the best. Love the storyline

These jungle levels have very interesting event-usage.

EYECANDY
There’s lots of vegitation and other stuff around;it has much better eyecandy than in the offical epic jungle levels:p
9/10

GAMEPLAY
There’s lots of great ways of using events;one could learn a lot by playing this.
10/10

ENEMY PLACEMENT
The enemy placement is good, but there are too many in some areas.
8/10
