Description

I like Jazz 1 conversions and since there is a lack of matereail using them I figured why not make some levels myself. Thus began my project, I’m a makeing JJ1 tileset treasure hunt pack. Intended to release this in a group but yesterday I had a scare with my hard drive so I figured that I would upload it now to preserve it. The only problems I had with it was that I accdinetly used the TSF creation station and I didn’t feel like doing all my animations again to bring it down to 1.23. I also had problems with backrounds. I will reupload when I can figure it out. This is my first work in 4 years and all my old works got deleted but other than that don’t hold back, enjoy.

NOKA’s Diamondus is going to be overused like JJ2 one.

First, before I’ll begin this review to Cooba and Dx, the field “Submit review” is there for people which write reviews and not for a chat. We have the private message function for that. This will probably be the same as Violet or Trafton will tell you. =p

Now for the review, noone seemed to review this, so I’ll do now.

LVL DESGIN, EYECANDY AND…STUFF
The lvl design is nothing special, normal Treasure Hunt, but it feels good to see a Treasure Hunt level after so much time. :D
The problems start with eyecandy: The background layer which contains those mountains (layer 6) doesn’t work properly, the mountains fly in the air. The author mentioned that in the description so I won’t take points for that, but I will explain how to get it work. Dark Ryhorn, the mistake you did is that you set the Y-Speed to 1, the same speed as layer 4. I tried it out it should work with 0.0499878 (put the mountains above three lines of invisible blocks!). The sprite eyecandy is nothing big, you used layer 3 too less times. Layer 5 is used a bit, but not too much.

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is ok, nothing special, but there isn’t a need to because Treasure Hunt lvls are very rare in last time. Sadly the level is a tad bit small. Alltough there are enough gems and ammo.

AMMO PLACEMENT AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
The ammo plcmnt is ok. It could maybe have some secrets.

OBSTACLES
Not many…

TILESETS
The author used the Diamondus Evening tileset by NOKA. I don’t agree with Cooba and Dx, this tileset isn’t too much overused. I like this set, it reminds me on the good old times…

USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use is good, it almost uses the most tiles of the set and there is a bunch of animations. Well done.

CONCLUSION
Well, it’s good to see a treasure hunt level in those days, but it seems to be nothing special. Sadly, I can’t give more than a five, but keep making levels! Wanna see more projects from you.
