I think any future Jazz Jackrabbit games should be cell shaded to maintain the comic look that we've grown to love....

Comments?

Yes, I've heard a lot about this Razz... where does he come from?

The only jackrabbits I know are Jazz, Spaz, Lori, and Eva....

I don't know. If it would be a 2D game I don't think it should be cellshading. For a 3D game it would probably be a good idea.

Eva is not a jackrabbit :P its Eva earlong (or eva must marry jazz)
and its Razz ma Taz, he is fanbased, dean drawed him in a large drawing including a lot of characters he used to draw, there i found out his last name is ma taz. i can be wrong

I meant that Eva was a jackrabbit... just not a Jackrabbit. :D

Razz a ma Tazz is Eva's cousin. He was going to be in JJ3, and is about as official as Lori is.

As for cell shading... no. I've seen screenshots, and it is the ugliest 3D shading I have ever seen.

A quick google search reveals that you weren't actually talking about Final Fantasy 8. Let's see....

Hmmm. Looks like a flash movie. Kind of unappealing.

It generally looks better on high-poly models. For a game, I would not reccomend it.

But don't get cel shading confused with "toon lines" (there's probably a more technical term here I don't know). Cel shading is just reducing the colors used in shading to two or three. Toon lines are black lines drawn at angles greater than a certain number, usually 90 degrees, I think. A few things that are often overlooked are toon lines with gradient shading or colored toon lines.

I agree, cell-shading looks pretty bad on low-poly models. However, as I believe, making those outlines requires extra polygons, so it runs a bit slower, a possible reason why most games with cell-shading have less polygons.

like in xiii. if its done right then it looks good. it has to fit the enviroment.

I don't like cell shading because it's a step backwards in realism. I like graphics in games to be realistic. I always think games would look so much better if they weren't cell shaded when I see them. So I don't like it. Maybe >CelL< shading would work, though... ;- (mouthless face...)
