Lol. I'm lookin at releaseing the stand alone soon. Bugs, missing models and all. good thing i like to lan test b4 releaseing. i did find a anoying bug which is fixed. Special ports? i really dont think there is a special port needed. With the release of the standalone it will open the community up to bein able to make maps and what not.
(note it wont be totaly compleat but will be playable) theres alota things ive been tryin to figure out but no avail. ya know what. WTH! ill post the current readme file (since i make as i go. Not every thing is included in it because its just Trivial.)

Dont look like much to the time invested. but lota trouble shooting was done and waiting on the opensource for standalone status.

were lookin at a multi server system. all players join a main server. from there they can
touch the item and automaticly taked to the game they chose. though this can be a little bugy,
aslong as the servers are up and ip addresses are solid then this will work fine.

And about the ports; good, because JJ2 still times out even though I've opened the ports.

(Oh, and the download is broken because it's not released, right? :P)

EDIT: www.portforward.com says that Quake 3 uses port 27960.

it can me done like in normal quake3 maps.
but if you are talking about xm it mod files, no. but i think i saw a mod that has it. maybe McDougal can figure it out.

I could convert the xm it mod the files to mp3. Well, actually, I just record them. But it works all the same.

mp3's are a lot bigger than mp3's so xm, mod and it files can be downloaded from the server hosting a new map.

I meant using the ones already made by Thunder and me in the already made levels. I bet at least one of Thunder's tunes fits to each of the castle levels.

I don't have any tunes that are fit for a castle AFAIK; but then again, Jazz3's wasn't exactly castle-sounding either. :P

Here's all the music I've created for Razz Arena so far; there's a couple new tunes in there, and a few where I tweaked some bits. The only thing missing is the original Jazz theme remix I made, but it sucked. :P

Space Level (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/02 - Space Level.mp3) Self-explanatory. Original name was "Ambient," but it's not very ambient. :P
Warfare (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/03 - Warfare.mp3) Originally going to be used for my RPG, but since that's never going to see the light of day, I figured what the hell.
Base Level (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/04 - Base Level.mp3) Also self-explanatory. Original name was "Creepy," since the whole song was going to be like the beginning when I formed it in my head.
Chrysilis RMX (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/05 - Chrysilis RMX.mp3) Yet again, self-explanatory. =P
Chaos Level (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/06 - Chaos Level.mp3) I found the Song Maker option in MAGIX.
Funkay! (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/07 - Funkay!.mp3) This one's new. I like it a lot and the bass has a nice Jazz 1-styled feel to it. Glad I found that sample when I did or I wouldnt've made this one.
Midnight Chase (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/08 - Midnight Chase.mp3) I really really hate this one because of the wind sound effect's annoyingness, but I couldn't find a better one. The idea for this one was that it would basically build a tune off the wind while Jazz chases Devan through the night.
R.H.M.T. (http://thunderweb.zapto.org/music/Razz Arena/09 - R.H.M.T..mp3) Probably the oldest song of the bunch, but I touched it up a bit before putting it here.

(And no, you're not going to find out what R.H.M.T. means any time soon. :P)

nice i did pick the right one. cause thats the one i used. lol.

i did find a bug in the last man mode but idk if it is fixed or not since Q3a bot system dont mix well but least when take out the bots it does kick u. *some reason it wasnt b4* one thing i know is gona bug me for a while is the strict player class setup.

far as release. ill take a quote from Id software.

its done when its done

but more like ready since being done is still far out there.

If you're seriously going to include these tunes with the game, make sure they are in tune, because these are horribly out of tune. Most of the notes clash and the melody sounds like one big mishmash because of it. No offense DoubleGJ, but they hurt the ears of people who have musical ears to whatever extent.

we have released our first stand alone version.
multiplayer works and i am hosting a 24/7 server.

just download Razz_Arena.exe and use Connector.exe to connect to my server.

Razz Statue Arena is just completely wrong, but Risk It! is NOT out of tune. There are loads of tunes like that in video games; it's the "omfg bomb's gonna blow up the world, now I have to run to bad guy's base in 5 minutes" tune.

Anyway, the characters seem to be somewhat balanced;

Jazz:
- Grappling hook
- Slightly faster (I think)
Spaz:
- Double jump
- Somewhat easier to control, IMO

But what kind of abilities will other characters have?

Will all characters have the speed boost? And Devan should have some sort of shield that, when touched by enemies, hurts them. A dragon transformation would be kinda unfair. =P

I always imagined Razz to be a fairly muscular rabbit, so maybe he has some sort of dash where he runs into the enemy and knocks them down. Also, Lori needs some sort of dodging skill. She's not uber-athletic for no reason :P

I have a feeling that the "muscular" and "inventor" features clash with each other. And Lori does look fit, she even has this gym kind costume. ;)

since we only had 2 models/charaters at the time i gave jazz the hook. i have a Sam done (simple animated model) that im gona use as a temp for others. give jazz his copter ability, and trans the hook to Razz. im tryin to work out a cleaner class system in the code so that there can be custom skins added freely with out the need of a code dump input. still tinkering when i am able. i fig the release of the mostly functional game will raise intrest for more develoment out side the code it self.

Hmm, I'm trying to learn 3d modelling now. Dunno how much time it will kepp, or if I'll be succesfull with it, or how good will I be, but if enough, and I'll have time, I'd like to help you guys out with some modells in the future. I can't promise it, but maybe... ;) I like this project, and how it's going.
Well if I could vote for levels, maybe my list would be the next:

About L :lori: r i, what moves are you planning for her? I think she would have an air dive-kick. Something like Sonic's "homing ball" attack, but lori shouldn't spinning, but flying towards the enemy & kick him from the air. (that should be the move in the place of Lori's ear-copter) If the enemy's too far, she should miss him, to make the attack not too powerfull.

I wish you good luck for this project! ;)

Instead of the copter-ears? No. Every character should have one move to get to places (ie Copter Ears, DoubleJump, Grappling Hook) and one damaging move, usually fighting (Superjump thing, Karate Kick)

hi all, as some of have allready seen the suckertube model on the razz arena site.
for those who dont click the link in my sig.

im posting this because i need your help.

first i tought i could create tube systems like this:

using these models.

1. tube lenght
2. tube lenght with windows :)
3. tube start/end model (the yellow part)
4. tube splitters

but after some calculating i would have needed 58 tube splitter models.
and you must agree with me you cant work with that in quark, its just to mutch.
(not even talking about the time it would take to model them)

my calculation (if we can rotate models it would be less, but still a lot)

6 nCr 2 = 15
6 nCr 3 = 20
6 nCr 4 = 15
6 nCr 5 = 6
6 nCr 6 = 1

but i was thinking: if we only make the tube itself holow and put warps just before the end of the tube (so before the splitter) and warp the player into the tube it can maybe do the trick.

i dont know a few of you can create maps for quake/razz, i need some feedback on this one.

I don't know how important those calculations still are, but you made an error. 6 nCr 1 equals 6, not 1. I just wanted to point that out.

You can make tubes and stuff as a brush, and not as a model. That way, you can see how it looks as soon as you make it.
But I guess you do need models for the splitters.
But Milkshape can export as a .MAP file right?
And of course, I probably don't even know what's going on, right?
