I find it extremely odd that the only thing you have ever done in this thread is complain about the tileset's time. Maybe that's because it takes less than a month to finish compiling a tileset!
Clearly the impossible idea of actually helping out and helping to speed up the progress hasn't crossed your mind;
It has, but nobody ever takes kindly to my help. (Which I learned in september.) That is, while dealing with tilesets.

You obviously don't go on many game development forums because when somethings done, the author or organizers puts that in the first post. That wayreaders know and don't have to scour though (at this point 14 pages) to find the finished version! But if you want to be disorganized I can't stop you. Now that is all I want to say unless somebody has a good reason why it shouldn't be on the first page when it's done.

I think labeling LMAT tilesets months just puts more pressure to get it done on time, which reduces quality and possibly speed. I suggest we don't do that.

Kansas was pretty good, though. And you don't get much pressure until a few last days anyway.

Nonetheless, it just makes people expect the tileset to come out on the month, when in this case it didn't happen. :P

It might just be better to number them for now on (e.g. LMAT #4 for the next one). I still think most of the work should be done within a month though. Quality is mostly an issue of who's contributing and what's already been contributed.
n00b
Jan 5, 2006, 12:56 PM
Aww, does that mean that I wasted my time drawing that pirate zepplinship thing?
No, just toss in the next LMAT before we have a chance to make a theme
blurredd
Jan 5, 2006, 01:09 PM
Also, how the tileset is handled after the month (or whatever designated time period) is over has to be improved. Maybe anyone should be allowed to compile the tileset with whatever changes they want, and the best version is made into the official LMAT tileset.
On a side note, LMAT (September) can still be salvaged although I think it will need a lot of changes.
CrimiClown
Jan 5, 2006, 01:15 PM
In my opinion, we should give up September. Let's just start off clean in Februari (Oops, shortest month! :O ). This will give us whole of Januari to come up with idea's and themes and God knows what.
Violet CLM

Here's an idea (based off what Crimi said): how about a thread just for posting random groups of tiles and themes to see what fits together. Suggestions can be saved for later, and the best tiles will be used to start the next LMAT. This will inevitably exclude some contributions, but it will provide a great base for the next tileset.
Or is this all too similar to LMAT itself?
CrimiClown

I personally think this could work. And, it won't be as LMAT, because you just post what YOU think should be tiles.
Violet CLM
Jan 5, 2006, 01:44 PM
That could work... there does seem to be a certain aspect in LMAT of taking old unused tiles and getting them out into the mainstream. I do have a plan for something that February could be based on, but if you want to try that and see what sort of things people can come up with without any prompt at all, go ahead.
