I think the tightest game will be Sweden vs Belgium.

Poland vs Israel should own too. One question though, do you think slovenia will get pwned harder by Finland, or will the italians get ravaged even more by the Dutch?

ohh and, this is the message from the organisers:

There has been now... a slight change...
Every team faces every team once, not twice, which would take too long.
The first round pairs are as follows:

Australia - United Kingdom (Sat 17th, 14.00 GMT)
Belgium - Sweden (Sat 17th, 15.00 GMT)
Finland - Slovenia (Sat 17th, 16.00 GMT)
Germany - Romania (Sat 17th, 17.00 GMT)
Israel - Poland (Sat 17th, 18.00 GMT)
Italy - Netherlands (Sat 17th, 19.00 GMT)

-The host must log the match, that goes for all matches.
(Carrotade is recommended)
-If the above times don't work, u may postpone your matches, but really try you best to play them before sunday evening, will ya?
-Anyone both teams can agree on may host the matches.
Official hosts include me, Sasik and Vegito (Though he doesn't seem too motivated.)
-Each match is best out of 3 rounds (which are to 5 points, each!). Teams can agree on which team chooses their level in the first round and which in the second.
If there are disagreements, the alphabetically first team chooses first.
The third round may be played in any mappool level both teams can agree on.
Again, if there's no agreement, it will be played in a standard level, such as Semi, BBlair or JE.
-Whichever team is blue in the first round will be red in the second. The third round team colors may be agreed on. If agreement isn't made, the team that has the worse score difference till then may choose their team color.

Thanks Urbs, for everything. :D

EDIT2: And you're hereby a tournament official for reminding me about that, thank you very much. :P

No not a host nor does it bind you to do anything. Just because u did something to assist with the organization, I named u an official. U have no new tasks though. Unless you'd like to. :)

I'll already have to postpone the match from the Netherlands if I can't get anyone else to play.
I won't be online pretty much the entire saturday evening, because of a birthday. Not an unusual birthday either, someone turns 50. I already agreed at going there, so they expect me.

(So maybe DS, Chiyu and Ani can play? =P Or Quickz, whatever. I'll make sure the Dutchies are notified about my problem.)

SORRY FOR PUTTING YOU LAST QUICKZ BUT I LOVE YOU TOO! -

My predictions :

Australia - United Kingdom - won't be played

Belgium - Sweden - If Sweden shows up , it will be interesting game

Finland - Slovenia - Finland

Germany - Romania - Won't be played

Italy - Netherlands - I'd bet on The Netherlands but Italy's rossters have improved a lot lately so it might be very interesting game

my predictions (assuming all matches are played):

Australia - United Kingdom United Kingdom
Belgium - Sweden Belgium
Finland - Slovenia Finland
Germany - Romania Germany
Israel - Poland Poland
Italy - Netherlands Netherlands

edit: we don't get it, though... does this work like Chippie's JJ2WC III? if one team wins by 5-4 then losses by 5-1, then a third, tie-breaker round is played? if one team wins both rounds then a third round is not needed, right? this is what "best of three levels" means, anyways.

uhm ya exactly, if one team wins in 2 rounds, is the 3rd needed?

ohh and, why is every1 betting against us? I mean, team slovenia is like: hell yeah!

I think it is based on rounds, not scores. But it would be nice to see how Emp understands BO3.

Just so you guys know, i still havent been able to contact any1 from team slovenia, so the way things stand now, we won't make it...
Hopefully that will change by 4 pm GMT.

Another question, is 4pm GMT 5pm CET or 3 pm CET?

Australia - United Kingdom: United Kingdom
Belgium - Sweden: Belgium
Finland - Slovenia: Finland
Germany - Romania: Germany
Israel - Poland: Poland
Italy - Netherlands: Netherlands

This would be the most logical, but maybe there will be some surprises.

']poles won?
Yeah, don't you see it? I'll write it then maybe a bit more clearly than R3p ;P

http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif Israel vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland

Teams:
http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif Israel: AvK, R3ptile, SkulL (always blue)
http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland: Maverick, Sasik, Sperry (always red)

1st Round:
Map: Bloodbunny's Lair
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif DarkSonic
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif ISR vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 5-0
Well, Israel chose BBlair. From the start it was really bad game for us. We did many stupid mistakes + also some lags and 3hk's (especially for Mav) did what they always do ;) Israel was better, imo.

2nd Round:
Map: Happy Semiconductor CTF
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif DarkSonic
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif ISR vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 3-5
Again, we were losing at the beginning but then made nice comeback and won. Semi was our choice, btw.

3rd Round:
Map: Diamondus Warzone
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif DarkSonic
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif ISR vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 0-5
We wanted to do other level, but R3p insisted to play DW, so we agreed. It looks like we were just better and won without many problems.

Overall: http://images.clanbase.com/il.gif ISR vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 1-2 (8-10)
GG I must say. The games were quite exciting. Also, I'd like to thank my team for nice victory. GJ. Thanks goes too to DS for hosting all games, personally I didn't have any problems with the server, though.
However, overall it's quite disappointing that only one match were played today. I hope you will announce the pairs for the next round asap, Emp.

Ugh, I hate multireplying, but what's a dood to do...

@ Stijn: Never mind, good idea. :/

@ Hatebreed: If Ionut can't play tomorrow (18th Feb), you get a forfeit win.

@ Rep: I chose the first round draw to be this weekend, for testing purposes, that's why it is how it is. The next draw will be on monday and will last for that week. Also, every team will face every team, so it hardly matters did you face Poland now or on round 9. The teams were chosen by random anyway, by a program.

@ Sasik: Yes, the next round draw will be on monday and will last for the week or till all games have been played (and forfeit wins given).

Question! :
Should there be CTF events, where the country of every participating player gets about 20 % as many points as a team gets for a ctf match win? (with max: 3 players / country, maybe?)
Just a wicked idea, answer:p

Newsflash! -point system- (which can be changed later...)

-CTF match win: 5 points
-CTF match loss: 1 point
-CTF match forfeit win: 3 points (?)
(-CTF event win: 1 point / player [max 3 players / country]) (?)

EDIT: And way to go Poland. With that you've momentarily seized the lead. :P

(-)(-)(-)? No. This is not JDC. This is just a 3vs3 CTF Tournament.

Newsflash! -point system- (which can be changed later...)

-CTF match win: 5 points
-CTF match loss: 1 point
-CTF match forfeit win: 3 points (?)

No. Forfeit win have to give the same number of points as normal victory.
Rather like this:
1 Match win = Forfeit win = 3 points.
1 Round won in a match = 1 point.
1 Match loss = 0 points.

ok Israel's comments for the match vs. Poland

1st round in BBLAIR: everything went perfect, just like we used to pwn few years ago. 5-0

2nd round in Semi: we were leading by 3-0 (untill that point we've already had an overall 8-0 lead!). can't even explain in words how (-) we are, the match simply ran out of our hands. with JJ2WC rules we would've won, too. 3-5

3rd round in DW: well we were already broken and things just didn't go our way. we roasted them a lot more times but didn't even manage to get on the right timing and score even one point. 0-5

overall those were really nice, though quite disappointing games. gj for the poles and good luck in the future! we'll hopefully keep improving, untill we reach the performance level of the first and half of the second round without messing things up (we should've won both rounds by 5-0 ;|)

It would be better to play ONE MATCH PER WEEK (in the weekend, saturday/sunday). Considering as there were only two matches played this tournament will be full of forfeits. You should tell people about their matches at least 5 days before the games. Think about it.

However, we'll be there to pwn Germans =D

Uhm guys, just to make this official, so we won't lose by not showing up again.
I've tried to contact team belgium about postponing the match till later this week, alas up till now i have yet to get an answer from them.
But since team slovenia means to show up this time, I would just like to officially state that one member(me) cannot make it at the time designated for the match to begin. I can however start the match at 17 cet or even 16:30 cet.

So there, you can't cancel us, if we don't show up at 3pm cet:). But we can come 2 hours later.
And yes, it is possible i've mixed up the time, as I'm not sure completely how this timezone thing works. but i think i haven't botched the whole thing up this time.

The Netherlands Vs. Israel:
Round 1. BBlair (Israels choice.) Host: Sasik. Score: 5-1 to NL.
Line up: DarkSonic, Vegito, Chiyu Vs. SkulL, AvK, R3p.

Hmz.. This went a lot easier than each of us thought. The Netherlands really had a perfect timing. They didn't really stand a chance probably. They did have the upper hand for a while at the start though.

Round 2: Jungle's Edge. (The Netherlands' choice.) Host: Sasik. Score: 5-0 to NL.
Line up: DarkSonic, Chiyu, Vegito Vs. AvK, SkulL, R3p.

This went even faster than the BBlair round. We had the upper hand the entire game, and never really got into trouble. Our timing was yet again really perfect. Both games were nice. Friendly. Thanks for playing, Israel :)

Well, so I'll write some informations about http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland vs http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif Germany...

1st Round:
Map: Bloodbunny's Lair (GER's choice)
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif DarkSonic
http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland: Maverick, Sasik, Sperry (red)
http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif Germany: Hatebreed, BadBunny, Sfazist (blue)
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL vs http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif GER 5-0
Well, kinda fast game. We were in a hurry. Weird thing for me is that I had to complete Germany's team to get the game played (I found BadBunny;P)...
GG.

2nd Round:
Map: Happy Semiconductor CTF (POL's choice)
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif DarkSonic
http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland: Maverick, Sasik, Sperry (red)
http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif Germany: Hatebreed, Fabian, Sfazist (blue)
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL vs http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif GER 5-0
Again, won without any problems. gg.

Overall: http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL vs http://images.clanbase.com/de.gif GER 2-0 (10-0)

FIN vs SLO

The first round was in BBLair. It took some time for Slovenia to finally get three players, but they managed to get three after lots of crashes and timeouts. Finland easily won this round with 5-0.

The second round was in Semi. This didn't take as much time as the first round to start, but the actual round was longer than the BBLair round. Slovenia scored 1 point here thanks to ZippeR. They were much better here than in BBLair, but Finland still won 5-1.

Also, if you can find a better time that would be before the appointed time, then feel free to play it then.

I'm afraid the games are to be played this week, since round 4 starts next week.
Postponing matches till next week needs absurdly good reasons.
FIN - SLO for instance, was postponed because they couldn't get a three player team together earlier and were at the verge of forfeiting.

@ Rep: Oh well, I never said I was too experienced about organizing tournaments...

@ Hatebreed: How many times do I have to tell you that the order of the league stage games was chosen entirely by random.

You should play the announced games, (meaning all of them) as soon as possible. The given times are merely suggestions, so if you talk to the teams you're gonna face, you may choose to play at another time. A game may be played at any time when both teams (especially their captains) agree to play.

In the end of the 11th round, I will give some time for teams to play their remaining games.
I will likely also suggest times for those games, contact the teams etc etc.
When the given additional time is up... teams that couldn't play at all (whatever the reason) will give forfeit wins as for the rest of the games, people won't get points.
That's when the playoff round starts and the four (4) teams that have the least points will be eliminated.

More on that will come later...

Present:

Play the announced games of your country as soon as possible.
And I'll say once more that the given times are mere suggestions.

maverick

ShadowGPW
Mar 5, 2007, 10:16 AM
I like the idea and i like how its going now. :D

however, i think you should limit the player ammount for Clan members. eg, max 2 players from 1 clan per match.

It's unfair when you field a full clan lineup against a team that hardly plays with each other.

Grytolle
Mar 5, 2007, 03:39 PM
However that still doesn't matter, as all active jj2 players play together anyway. Such a rule would just make it even harder for teams to get games played (for example I don't have any non C<!-- -->C swedish options)

Raven aka StL

Anakin[CC]
Mar 6, 2007, 03:46 AM
I can understand shadow's point, but this was to be expected and this should have been discussed before the tournament ( at the poll thread )

And gry has a good point aswell it would be even harder to let matches get played if no clan teams would be allowed, so they are.

And i want to do something against the unplayed duels, just like Gry, i didnt see anything either of GER team....

Whenever a country is ready to play at an agreed time, confirmed by a tourney official, and the official can confirm that 1 country was there and 1 was not, then that 1 country, HAS the right to claim a 2-0 forfeit win ( 2x 5-0 ) however you dont HAVE to. However i personally think we should give the country which did not show up a second chanche, Germany has been given 3 chanches so fair, we will clain the win after their next failure but if Gry's story is true, then SWE can claim a win aswell.

If a country does not agree on a certain time or date, then LET IT KNOW !!! (-)(-)(-) dont just dont show up but SAY SO, atleast 1 HOUR before the game starts and not 30 minutes after the match !!!!

Sasik
Mar 6, 2007, 08:42 AM
I think that the website of this tournament should contain more USEFUL information. Like the dates and time when matches should be played, contacts (e-mails/msn/etc.) to the members from each country or at least teamleaders (such people should be chosen). All annoucments should be posted at the site not only at JCF threads, which are always spammed. Also, maybe someone else could also take care of the site? You are too slowly with posting updates or you don't post them at all, Ani.
I'm just giving ideas how to make this tournament better working, so don't take this as an offence, rather like an advice. ;P

As if you'd be actual winners with a forfeit win, it's as cheap as how France got to the World Cup final of football last year...

Well, so we finally played http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif Finland vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland

Teams:
http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif Finland: Emperor, SJ, Sucer
http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif Poland: Maverick, Sasik, Sperry

1st Round:
Map: Bloodbunny's Lair (FIN’s choice)
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif CelL
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif FIN vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 2-5
I had some troubles with my pc, which kept crashing + also emp kept ctoing so it took a lot of time to finally start the game. We won without many problems, except for the beginning when Finland scored for 1-0 and I thought that this will end like in our match against Israel, but we somehow managed to win. Also I had to play in window mode and I’m not used to it : P

2nd Round:
Map: Diamondus Warzone (POL’s choice)
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif CelL
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif FIN vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 5-2
I don’t know what has happened but we lost in kinda dumb way. Maybe because of my mistakes (too aggressive style ;P). But y’know that show must go on...so it was 7-7 after 2 rounds.

3rd Round:
Map: Medieval Skyscrapers
Host: http://images.clanbase.com/nl.gif CelL
Score: http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif FIN vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 4-5
Well, we couldn’t agree on the tie-breaker level, so we played the most symmetrical one – MS. We were winning 4-0 and then Mav kept shouting “GO RTS, GO RTS” – coz he had to go already (the whole game took almost 2 hours ;O). So we were RTS almost all the time and lost 4 points ;P However, we (or better to say – Sperry) managed to score the last one and won the whole game ;P

Overall: http://images.clanbase.com/fi.gif FIN vs http://images.clanbase.com/pl.gif POL 1-2 (11-12)
Thanks to Cell for hosting, the games were exciting and good ones though.

I scored a 1-0 lead to us thanks to SJ but then Sasik left and joined the game so many times that our team completely lost focus. Maverick was nearly always at blue base and I was nearly always at red base so I didn't see him much.
Emperor didn't go RTS and I died when SJ or EMp wasn't R. They had good timing and we just lost.

Second round DW

I suck in DW and I thought so does Emp but he again proved me wrong. Emperor played very well and camped with the flag a lot. We played with timed scores on this level (sort of) and it worked. I think I did nothing at all exept roast Maverick once, but SJ and Emp had great cooperation and so we won 5-2.

Third round MS

Our team sucked and they got a 4-0. Then we started to lame and never go RTS just camp and POL became a bit bored and tried to play is risky like we did in the beginning and we fastly got the game to 4-4. Then I was so excited that I tried to try a trick out and left the red base (even tough our flagcarrier had 1) to kill Sperry. I went down the other route and Sperry went up the other and then SJ died. Emp was going R but he got shot by a seek and Sperry made it just a second before Emp or something like that.

I think our team has some potential, but we need to work on our strategy and me and Emperor have to work on our individual skill.

BBlair

I expected it to be murch harder. Although they scored 1st point very quickly, we managed to make a nice comeback.

DW

I don't know what actually happened here that we lost 2-5. I think we had the advantage throughout the round but we weren't RTS too often, thus many of flagcarrier kills were useless.

MS

My mates can only blame me for losing 4 point is a row. I was in hurry so I really wanted to finish it quickly so I didn't care about being R , just hunted. The outcome was that they almost won but ,as always, our great Julita managed to score the last point.

Before the game started, I had known that this game might be very tough. When we won the first round, I lost my concetration because either we did great or they sucked. In the 2nd round everything went bad though in the 3rd round the game was in our control and eventually we won 12-11.

GG.

I've been trying to get the people in the Aussie team on more, but it's proving very very difficult. I've probably had a good snap at a few people because of it unfortunately, because they commited to it and now they're off playing other things and don't seem to want to hear about it. I know the tourney's frozen but I'll try to get some matches played for us within the next two/three weeks.

No, the tourney is frozen, likely you could call it dead.
Forget about it. :|

Could we play a gosu final between two teams that are interested? I can sign FIN to be interested right now:)

No, that'd be extremely lame.
