Got some questions...

How would ye people think bout another maze in Tomb Rabbit 2? It would of course feature more than only walls (and snakes, see TR1 http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif ) - but if ye people really had enough of any kinda mazes then i'll just leave it out -- its up to ye - speak up!!

If there are other things (changes) ye'd like in the game, now its the moment to say it!

I can tell ye the sequel will have/be, compared to part 1...

less difficult...

more tilesets...

more variety in types of level (search levels, action based, story based...)...

specific soundtrack featuring the tomb raider theme and some movie theme(s)...

some level design that was never done before (at least so far i know http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif )

ehh... some more but i caint think of it right now http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

and (unfortunately) higher pc requirements...

The site is also (still) under construction, and i will up it when i find the time...

If ye make yer vote for the maze - could ye count the pro's and contra's so i dont have to go count it? (ye know, everyone who votes, writes the total of pro's and contra's in his post, his/her vote added)

As for a release date - If things keep goin the way they are (which is 'well'), i'd say Q1 2002...

I don't mind a maze, but the snakes were really annoying.

I thing I'd prefer no maze. I had to write a map of the whole thing in order to find the way...(not that it really wasn't fun but I think TR2 would be better without).

I vote no maze...please!!!

As you may know, I am one of TR's biggest fans and advocates, not to mention the first one to beat it (;

I say, make the maze. I'm sad to hear it's not as hard, though! I loved the difficulty of TR 1, it was such a welcome change from the easy SP packs that dominate the scene.

well - as in general the game will be easier, it will now include more 'hard mode' stuff - of course that doesnt go for the puzzles (or mazes), but i'll try to make it work for all people...

oh - and keep counten the votes please - i am very bad at maths ye know http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Hmmm .... make an easy maze. I like mazes (I made Deathmaze a long time ago), but not too hard. Hey, how about a trigger crate maze, find the trigger crates? I'be seen levels like that and they are fun.

I'd love to see more tilesets and music. Could you have secret levels, too? That would be cool.

I really liked the original, but never beat it, and some of the blades, while excellently animated, where impossible to manuever past.

Whatever... I can't wait for the sequel.

Um, make it harder, I mean even know I played TR1 under Easy it was still not very hard. Nm, I think I played the game on hard and it was still too easy.

>>>Mazes cool. Though the sucker-tube one was a pain, it took me a couple of hours to beat, and I had to make a color-coded map :P *Note - Maps aren't THAT much of a pain :P*

There will be - it will depend on the time i have how much of em will be in

aye - the blades were a pain in the eh... certainly cause project2 did a lousy job on programming masked tiles >http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif - but know that some of the blades were made impossible to make it past so ye have to find another way...

What about the maze being optional?

(Entrace) (Warp that only appears on easy that goes to the level itself)

(Warp that only appears on hard that leads to a complicated maze)

(Warp that appears on all levels (but you wont' get it becuase of the two previous ones, leads to an easy maze and then to the level).

The mazes are part of what Tomb Rabbit is :P

You could make a hidden shortcut, like in TR1.

If I count correctly:

Pro - 4.5

Contra - 6.5

But I say you are the designer and you design, you chose not to have any assistors until beta testing, so you make up all the things yourself. Perfect.

As for the difficulty: It was cool, but the blades got me stuck far too many and the "no save" problem was so annoying combined with it.

As for the requirements, that would mostly be no problem.

I must however suggest that you do not choose your beta testers through JCF, it is a bad way, because most people see the messages when 5-10 replies and all tests have already been done.

Now I think I have said enough.

the getting-stuck-in-the-scenery problem has been solved in this sequel (and no, no more blades http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif ), same goes for the amnesia error which will be avoided by simply smaller levels (i reckon that should do the trick http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)

Newspaz you'll have to edit your quote of me because I edited the post where you quoted it from. BTW, what're you talking about Newspaz man TR1 was hard at the beginning levels but it got really easy later on! I wasn't able to save in the Central Cave, but was able to save in the Sub levels.

makes me wonder - anyone ever found it? (without cheating i mean http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif )

I dont mind mazes and puzzles. You may make it just as hard as Tomb rabbit 1, maybe even a litle bit harder. But the thing that realy ticked me of whas the inability to save in the last temple and the caves. I discovered, with a litle jjnowalling, that for example the first final temple level's largeness, wich causes inablility to save, was completely unecesery, there was a big empty part at the bottem. If you would've removed that, there would be ability to save. But apart from that, seeing that i beat the pakc, a maze or 2 would'nt be all that bad.

Sorry to revive this, but I have to ask: is this still being made? Or has it been abandoned like so many other projects?

Well, if you still want to make TR, do so. But please don't make it easier. The original Singleplayer Episodes are easy enough. Some hard singleplayerlevels won't hurt us ;p!

TR1 was just too hard to be very fun at all. There was hardly any enjoyment left due to your not being able to move without dying.

TR2 is still in development but due to other projects (of which most for school, and therefore with that tad of higher priority ;) ) it will still be a while before it'll be out....

Yeah TR1 was a little too easy. Also one really important bug, can you please make sure that you will be able to save anywhere. And that there are no Access Violations.
