I'm working on a tileset and I need some help. My questions are: 1. How do you get the gaussian blur to work? 2. How do you make ground tiles(like in Disguise's and Epic's tilesets). I'd really appreciate some help guys.:(

1. Your image needs to be 24-bit. To do this, go to Colors --> Increase Color Depth --> 16 Million Colors (24-bit). Note that JCS cna onlty take tilesets that are 256 colours big, and by increasing your colour depth to 24-bit you would have to do a load of other things to convert it back to 256 colours, mostly involving palette editing. Also, this will reduce the quality of your tileset by a LOT (You try and put 16 million colours into 256 colours).
Explaining all of that is a whole different story, and could fill in an entire huge tutorial all by itself, one I'm not in the mood fo explaining right now ;)

2. What sorta ground tiles are you talking about? ;)

3. You guys ever played MDK2? I finished it ages ago, but man! I seriously have the urge to play it like never before, too bad I LOST THE GAME!!! WAAAHHHH!!!! *dies*
That was the only third person shooter I'd ever dare to play, JK2 sucks.

Yeah MDK2 is pretty funny. The ground tiles that I'm talking about are ones like in Jungle and Inferno where the tiles are flat and kind of wavy. BTW, Disguise, if gaussian blur doesn't work in 256 color mode how did you get it to work in your tilesets? (you said something about it it your thread about the fact that you didn't rip the leaf tiles in Tarzan's Treetops)

I converted the tileset to 24-bit
Then when i was finished at drawing everything I converted it all abck into 256 colours. It's a lot harder than it sounds though

As for drawing those ground tiles, epic did it by hand, I did it with a gradient. I'll post somehting about it later (aka some day that could be any day) when I'm not as tired.

3. I'm playing MDK2 :D:D:D I'm only on the first Max level :D

Uh... ground tiles are really not easy. It depends on how much colours you need/have. If you have tonnes of colours in your pallete, stick with Blade's Glacier ground [pixel gradient] or use Wisey's floor thing. I can't do either. I suck :(

hehe. Good luck Janus. [I never see you on Jazz, what's your name there?]

I need to get a networking thing and a router. My computer doesn't have a connection to the internet.

If your using alot of 24 bit it could take a bit of work, but just a small ammount you can just load the palatte your using (if you saved it).
