Hey Fquist, which time zone does the board use? I would suggest using GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, London, England), thats the world standard. Maybe you could add a GMT offset info to the profiles (see? using the j2o profiles would be helpful! :-)

I will look into it. I don't know for myself actually. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
But in any case, the dates this forum uses are very hard to convert. But I'll look into it anyways.

It uses GMT-6, thats "U.S. central time" or however they call it. I suggest using GMT :-)
March 23rd, 2001, 01:36 PM
Too bad most of the members live in america. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I'll talk it over, okay?
March 23rd, 2001, 01:38 PM
Hah! Its a legend that most jazzers are from the US...are you from the US, Fquist? And wheres Arjan from? :-)
March 23rd, 2001, 01:45 PM
Both are from Holland, silly http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif And i <strike>hate</strike> don't mind seeing the times in EST (GMT-6) http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Its in -6? Bah, it should be on -5. ;P
March 23rd, 2001, 02:07 PM
I don't mind to see PST(extracting 10 hours from my time is easier than others ;P) or GMT.. Having personal time zones for people would be nice too, if possible.. (example: nagcentral BB)
And it's a fact that the European Jazzer population is more than the American one<s>, so let the superior time zone, GMT rule the JCF!</s> Err..
March 23rd, 2001, 02:10 PM
I agree with Bobby! -5 all the way!
March 23rd, 2001, 02:28 PM
The USA is the only country that really matters. Set it to EST. ;D
March 23rd, 2001, 03:05 PM
Man, I forgot this is GMT+1...6 hours earlier in America, that makes -6 + 1 = -5, GMT -5! Boy, do i feel dumb...
March 23rd, 2001, 03:24 PM
*cough* PST is the coolest timezone. GMT -8 forever! *cough*
Quist, does phpBB use time() or a date() funtion to determine times? if it's time(), timezones shouldn't be too hard to implent.
March 23rd, 2001, 03:27 PM
iCeD...admitt it...-5 is the BEST!
March 23rd, 2001, 03:55 PM
No, iCeD is right, -8!
Anyway, shouldn't there be something to make it so you can set what time zone you're in?
March 23rd, 2001, 10:47 PM
Y not make the time customizable(like the layout of the forum)? Also, tis my first post here, I like the Ultimecia layout.
March 24th, 2001, 01:01 AM
No, GMT is the standard! http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif
Of course, there's no bias from the fact that I live there.
But seriously, most Jazzers are European, so using GMT so everyone understands would be easier...
March 24th, 2001, 01:20 AM
GMT All the way. Just because you are american it doesn't mean we're going to use your timezone ;)
Or something to choose your own timezone would be great ;)
March 24th, 2001, 01:21 AM
heh, you guys forget about one thing. all your +-X is the best will be senseless the next days (heres its tomorrow) when the daylight saving times comes >:-)))
btw its not about the usual europeans vs. americans dispute. its just that GMT (also known as UTC) is the world standard time :-)
ships, airports and many more HAVE to use it.
oh and GMT+2 is the best! (from tomorrow on ;-)))
March 24th, 2001, 03:02 AM
Daylight saving times always confuse me.. Is it like one continent changes its time by one hour and one week or something later the other one does, and it goes on like that till all time zone differences are like before again?
March 24th, 2001, 08:00 AM
I'm US Central... muahaha. But either US Eastern or GMT would make more sense.

CENTRAL TIME RULEZ!! *So what, I live in it http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)
March 27th, 2001, 06:17 AM
I agree, *CENTRAL* European Time (CET) rules...
