I love your "Lost Episode" levels. When I first began to download it, I thought it might be kind of ripped off, but it was good. How did you do the cutscenes?

Ninja Dodo used 3D studio max. don't get your hopes up, it's about five thousand dollars. Ninja dodo also hasn't been at this forum for a while. I think you can still contact him through email though. I wanted to use his 3d Jazz model for a fangame, I would've got it too, but he couldn't convert it to .3ds so I could import it.

Private message, indeed.

And, yes, quite a bit of money.

And note that the price there is for the government only...imagine the cost to the end user. Quite an investment!

For thet price, it had better be great. Anyway, Ninja Dodo's not around anymore, sorry, and the Lost World levels were pretty decent, too.

It is mainly geared towards professionals and those who would use the program for business, hence the price.

Radium is wrong. He did them using Caligari Truespace. I can't give you a version number though, I forgot. I'll redirect Ninja Dodo to this thread, since I rarely visits the JCF.

Yo.

I am in fact still around. I still visit j2o regularly and the forum occasionally, I definitely don't bother reading everything, but then who does? I haven't stopped by here for a while now though - if I had I would've replied earlier so sorry about that, but anyway...

I'm glad you liked LWE.
Newspaz is right I used Caligari trueSpace (version 5.1 in fact) to create the cutscenes. It took me about half a year to create them. First I did the rough animation, then added in the extra movement and finally the sets.

If you're interested in doing this sort of stuff yourself, have a look at the trueSpace 6.5 demo at http://www.caligari.com or the freeware 3.2 version which can be found there as well.

Also, just because I haven't released anything for ages doesn't mean I've left the community. I'm messing with a few different projects and I might actually get off my *** and do something this summer.

'Tis the Return of the Dodo!

You should stick around the Forums more frequently, ND. There's some crazy stuff that happens here.

Wow, thanks.

I can't find the 3.2 freeware though.

Hm, strange... it seems they've taken it off the site. I thought it was going to be a permanently available thing.

Well, after digging a bit I found this link which still seems to be active: http://forms.caligari.com/forms/ts3all_free.html
See if that works...

If you get it up and running and need any advice, stop by http://pub7.ezboard.com/btrueSpace4um

Wow again! Thanks again!

Also, how did you get it to appear in the episode selection screen? That's neat...

mikeejimbo: Always check the articles section before posting, because 3/10ths of the time some lifeless fool actually wrote an article on your question.
