I noticed people having 75x75 avatars and I made myself one that's still 2KB in size, then put it on an external website (imgur). It's still getting resized. What's going on here?

Who has 75x75 avatars?

Hare, DennisKainz, Robo4900, KRSplatinum and perhaps a couple of other people I forgot, newcomers I guess. User CP also states: "Note: Images must be exactly 75 by 75 pixels and 10.0 KB or less."

Note: Images must be exactly 48 by 48 pixels and 3.0 KB or less. Only GIF, PNG, and JPEG images are allowed.

I think I've got it. Basically, anyone who's passed email verification and made at least 1 post can create 75x75 avatars. Anyone who hasn't passed those two normally can't create avatars, with some exceptions which allow 48x48 avatars. The exceptions presumably allow 48x48 because that was the old default.

@DoubleGJ: it looks like you've not verified your email address but you're lucky enough to fall into one of those exceptions. Verify your email address and you should be able to upload a 75x75 avatar.

Yeah, uh, I didn't even KNOW there's any e-mail verification here. I even looked in my mailbox and there's nothing there, even though I've never emptied it. The e-mail account I use is provided in my JCF account, alright. Can't find any option to re-verify, either.

Apparently so. Unverified users shouldn't be able to post anything at all. DoubleGJ's account is one of a few exceptions due to other reasons, but I doubt they were granted that exception when they first signed up (it's to do with super-secret group membership).
