I see it used in a lot of levels that the "expert" level makers seem to make. What does it do?

DO NOT USE refers to an event that is not used in your version of JJ2. More than likely, it's a level made with the Holiday Hare version, which I think does use a couple new events. Could also be TSF, but I don't think you'd be able to view TSF levels in 1.2x JCS.

Or just plain ol trigger zone without a proper jcs.ini?

Trigger Zone is the most common DO NOT USE event you will see. To add it to your JCS, do the following:

Go into your main JJ2 folder, and open JCS.ini.
Find event 246.
Replace it with 246=Trigger Zone |+|Trigger |Trigger|Zone|TriggerID:5|onoff:1|switch:1
Save, exit.

(JCS doesn't support multiple spaces very well, so use some spaces to get all the | symbols to line up with those in other events)

No, I see this in 1.23 levels. It's event #0. I think it might be in Agama's heaven example level, but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

It's most likely the trigger zone you see, because Agama's example heaven level has plenty of them.

At least try it.

its a trigger zone,, had it with mine too,,

do what Unknown says:

Go into your main JJ2 folder, and open JCS.ini.
Find event 246.
Replace it with 246=Trigger Zone |+|Trigger |Trigger|Zone|TriggerID:5|onoff:1|switch:1
Save, exit.

it works, trust me,,

It's not worth it. I don't use enough trigger zones.

Not worth what? Twenty seconds of your time at the most? You may have no use for them now, but later on, assuming you have them, you will find you need them. It's not going to harm your JCS, it doesn't cost anything, there's really no reason not to add it. Especially because that way you can understand levels that use it better.

It doesn't have any parameters in the 'set event' window, is it supposed to? It does not work for me. In the heaven example level it is just placed anywhere put triggers the trigger anyway.

EDIT: once again my problems are solved before I get an answer.
why do I write to these forums anyway?

What's this evasive Pillow enemy that I hear so much about?

You mean the Pacman Ghost? It's a TSF enemy.

To use it, open up TSF's JCS.ini, and change event 253 to:

253=Pacman Ghost |-|Enemy |Pacman |Ghost

(once again, feel free to add some spaces so the pipe symbols line up)

Hmm.... weird... I thought if it was the trigger zone, and you had 1.23 it would show up... but it doesn't on mine, or something, ahh.... never mind.

Actually, their one of the best part of the JCS. And if you were ever interested in making test/puzzle levels. They are essential, because their mainly used to let you watch other people complete the levels, or go back to the level/exit the level. Only when you win this happens, of course.

One of the DO NOT USE events actually has a function that very few know about. With a generator it creates an airboard that respawns quickly.

For those who are interested, the one Mike refers to is event #243. You can set the respawn speed if you make it generate.

243=SP Airboard |-|Object |SP |Board
