Ladies and gentlemen, here go JCS Awards.

~Best Battle Level of 2012
Frozen Lake by Snooze (5 votes)
Delta Halo by Loon (4 votes)
Sodan Valtakunta by Snooze (3 votes)
On the first sight, these levels offer some of the best visual experiences you can have with JJ2. However, the apogee of their glory is only present to those who had an opportunity to play them. Each of the levels has its own unique gameplay and deserves to be played for as long as there are community members who know how to change game mode to battle.

~Best CTF Level of 2012
Black Jack by Superjazz (6 votes)
Antiquity by Snooze (4 votes)
Crystalline CTF by Plumbe (2 votes)
Starlit CTF by Plumbe (2 votes)
Black Jack. I used to hope it will enter the jjnet map pool, but I realized it would only discourage playing this level for fun. And being played for fun is something this work of art deserves much more than than being overplayed for points and clan competition. Oh well. The runner-up, Antiquity is a level from New Ages V pack with skillful tileset use and interesting gameplay. A very curious thing is Plumbe's debut, whose both levels uploaded this year got a third place in this category. Nice job there.

~Best Other MP Level of 2012
Flood Control by Ragnarok (5 votes)
Gravity is Overrated by cooba (3 votes)
Solar by minmay (2 votes)
As can be seen, even the most minimal levels can appeal to players, introduce innovations and win awards. I assume that the popularity of Rag's level is in part effected by JDC race event, but admittedly it is a worthy winner. Nonetheless, I can assure that both the second and third place are also of high quality, so go check them out if you haven't yet!

~Best MP Pack of 2012
New Ages V by Snooze (10 votes)
Crime and Punishment by minmay (2 votes)
This could have been foreseen easily. There was no way any of the other packs uploaded this year could outrun Snooze's 14 top-notch battle/CTF levels. Each of the levels is a masterpiece on its own but all together they form one of the best MP packs in JJ2 history. minmay's Crime and Punishment, even if the difference in amount of votes is big, still deserves attention for acquiring enough votes to qualify despite the presence of NAV.

~Best Single Player Release of 2012
Resurrection of Evil Episode 2 by Laro B. (5 votes)
Queen of Board by Sir Ementaler (5 votes)
A draw! I expected vote numbers to be close here, but not this close. Although one of the uploads is a pack and the other is only a stand-alone level, they are both of fantastic quality (if I can say so myself :P) and are worth the time they take to complete. If EvilMike returned to play this year's SP levels, he sure would be proud. Well, either that or frustrated by excessive difficulty level present in all of the nominations, one of the two.

~Best Tileset of 2012
Scorpio Key by Violet CLM (11 votes)
As much as I hoped for more variety in votes in this category, I suppose this result was determined once the name of Violet's conversion was placed on the list of nominations. Partly due to a deficit of tilesets this year, partly thanks to the fact this one is actually really awesome, Violet obtains his third gold award for the best tileset in a row, this time gaining almost all the votes in the category.

And the grand winner is...

~Best JCSer of 2012
Snooze - New Ages V - (8 votes)
minmay - Crime and Punishment, Episodic Ground Force Pack Episode 3 - (3 votes)
Ragnarok - Flood Control, Dusk v3, Trigelateral, Technodus Cargo Station v3 - (2 votes)
What can I say, New Ages V. One giant upload was enough for Snooze to destroy his competition and win the most prestigious annual JCS Award. Second came minmay with two first-rate packs of community-made game modes levels which can be expected to quickly become JDC classics. Rag's third place is... somewhat surprising to me, I admit, but I suppose that in a big part he owes it to levels that were never officially uploaded to J2O, as well as his little innovative race level.

Congratulations to all winners and good luck in 2013!
