Information on ++ and -- (1 entry)

Information by Spaztic (Dec 21 2004 12:51)
These two symbols put together preceding anything are based in #jj2 tradition. Monobot has a function where you can rate any item, and you do so by typing ++something to upvote it or --something to downvote it. These prefixes went to the JCF, SJ, basically most jj2 related places. Perhaps they will spread even farther.

One noted usage is to make a long string of +'s or -'s to emphasize your rating. This concept is accepted off of #jj2 where actual syntax isn't an issue. For monobot, though, +++reg ;) would give an upvote to +reg ;).
