The #jj2 Encyclopedia

The Rules of the #jj2 Encyclopedia

The #jj2 Encyclopedia has a number of rules which are enforced to keep the encyclopedia interesting and informative. When you submit entries and information to the encyclopedia, you will need to adhere to these rules. Failure to do so will result in your content getting removed, and/or a banning.

1. Keep entries/terms you submit informative. Every entry you submit should offer a concise explanation of the topic. Or, if you are posting another entry to an existing term, provide information the previous entries do not already. Do not use this encyclopedia as a place to repeat meaningless inside jokes/catchphrases. The goal is to inform people, not confuse them.

2. Do not submit information on meaningless/insignificant terms. This includes inside jokes that never caught on in the channel, information only you and/or a few others would care about, and general information that does not specifically petrain to the channel. Basically, if the #jj2 populace (and its newcomers) as a whole would not care about it, it's probably not worth submitting.

3. Do not add terms about yourself, or something you did. These are generally not very useful, productive, or well-done. It's also self-centered. If you or something you did is not memorable enough to get someone else to write about it in the encyclopedia, it probably does not belong here.

4. Do NOT use the encylopedia as a discussion forum. If you want to compliment someone for a well-written entry, debate the validity of an entry, ask for an entry to be deleted, etc., or just generally talk with a user/users, please do not use this encyclopedia to do so. Talk about it on #jj2 if you need to, or bring it up on Monolith's #jj2 Forum if it's policy-related or requires attention. Discussing things on the encylopedia is trivial, and just adds clutter.

5. Explain as much as possible. If your entry uses an acronym or term that may confuse people that are not familiar with it, please clarify it or direct users towards an entry that will.

6. #jj2 only. Do not submit JCF catchphrases/information, J2O catchphrases/information, etc. This is limited to #jj2. However, crossovers (something which applies to both) are acceptable.

7. If you see your entry, or any entry, removed, please do not repost it. If an entry of yours was removed, it was probably for a good reason. If you wish to repost it, ask first. Reposting deleted information (especially repeatedly) can result in a banning.

8. We have the full right to ban you, or remove your content, at any time. If you find one of your entries was removed, or your account was banned from posting entries on the encyclopedia, please do not bitch. It's not constructive in the slightest way. Usually deleted content was not worth being there in the first place, and bans are (assuming this is not a repeated ban) usually temporary. The goal of this encylopedia is to remain as informative and constructive as possible.
