Information on LOSE YOURSELF NO SKIPS! (1 entry)

| This is a rather old phrase from an inside joke we would randomly shout in the channel. Also simply "NO SKIPS!" became an off-shoot phrase sometimes appended to random things. It originated one afternoon in #jj2 where I was looking to download the song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem for some reason on Kazaa. During this time the larger record labels had been flooding networks with "loops" of small parts of songs instead of the entire thing in order to aggravate people away from finding the songs. When searching for this song a lot of people would put "NO SKIPS!" at the end of the song name to tell users it wasn't a fake. I downloaded one version and had an mp3 script running in #jj2 (this was before #jj2.musicbox), maybe to show that I also had the song. I don't remember. Anyway, the point is, it displayed the phrase in the channel and people found it an amusing combination. It was fairly popular for a little while but like many inside jokes was forgotten about by most. |
