A long-lasting, relatively meaningless catchphrase spawned back in 2002. It is probably #jj2's single longest-surviving catchphrase now, and over time the single most used, arguably.

The catchphrase spawned from AutoVoice's autotalk function repeating the line "reg ;)" over and over, causing it to catch on. "reg" is Afrikaans for "right" and was originally said by Disguise. The exact context is unknown today, and is largely irrelevant.

Note that the pronounciation for "reg" is up for debate, regardless of how it is pronounced in the original Afrikkans. Some believe it should be pronounced with a soft g, while others advocate a hard g being used instead.

It should also be noted that autovoice, who popularized reg ;) supported using a soft g. Therefore it is the correct pronounciation.

The first instance of "reg ;)" in #jj2 was at 2003-01-15 10:40:07. Wisety was talking to Ri in Afrikaans.

<Ri> of = or ja

This context is rarely remembered nowadays.
