Description

Have you ever converted your levels to TSF version by accident? (I have, many times:P)
This program should solve your problems with converting them back to 1.23.
Just drop the files you want to convert on the icon.

If you find any bugs, let me know and I will try to fix them.

Update: Now you can change the name of the converted files.

Update2: A bug has been fixed. Thanx to sonicnathan 1 for making levels that caused it.

Wonderful! I’ve just used the this to convert one of my uploaded levels into 1.23! Thumbs up! Got a little confused in the beginning though. Didn’t know how to do it at first. It turned out to be very easily used! Thumbs up again! If one program could convert both levels and tilesets it would be a 10!

The time had finally arrived…as now, you don’t even need TSF to play TSF levels anymore. People can now stop compaining that they can’t play an episode because it is TSF (although that rarely happens, as most of the best levels use 1.23 anyway). Now, people who have 1.23 can play almost any level, which is probably one of the best things about this utility.

This is a programme that is useful to everyone, whether you’re somebody who owns 1.23, or somebody who is mainly a TSF level maker such as myself, as now, almost everyone can try almost every TSF level and nobody has a reason to complain.

What is also great about this is that it is very simple to use. All you do is drag and drop a TSF level into the program and it just makes a copy of the level that you can play in 1.23. You don’t have to go into any programmes or do any coding or editing or anything, it is just a matter of click, drag and drop.

Finally, after several tries to fault this programme, the only problems that I can come up with is that you still can’t play levels that use tilesets which exceed the normal tile limit in 1.23, such as levels that use the Mega Metropolis tileset (which has over 4000 tiles, although there is lite version of the tileset anyways). I suppose people may also find dragging and dropping the TSF level as an extra choore just to play it. However, that barely qualifies as a fault with the programme itself, which works almost faultlessly, and this is much better than having to edit the actual level data itself.

I very strongly recommend that everyone who has 1.23, or even people who have both versions of JJ2 download this because this is a very useful tool to try out and use to everyone. This should be hailed as one of the best things ever to hit JJ2.

EDIT: Doesn’t work particularily well with very very large files. I think the 0.5 off the 10 is still enough of a margin, so the rating sticks, and don’t let this put you off downloading it, as it still is a very good programme.

So, as some people might be, the thought of making a TSF map into 1.23 is something you might be skeptical about, seeing as before the only option involved complicated steps through closing windows, redo animations and such and was a real pain.

This program simply put, you drag the file onto the icon and like 2 seconds later its done. This program is the perfect utility and is absoluetly well done. i 100% recommend this as a download for anyone how thinks they could use it, and maybe even those who dont.

Now I would rate this a 10, as there are no glitches, no secret twists, and no plot to end the world. I already know people are going to be all over me for this comment, but here we go. I am not to terribly fond of the adding the “#” after the filename. This is partially impractical, as the number sign appears invisible for online if you are trying to switch to a map, plus the # sign looks a bit ugly. . Overall, i would say the only thing id want changed about this wicked program, is to have it rename the output files like fix or something of a similar structure for better convienience. If i saw this changed to anything easily remembered and applyed, ill boost my rating to a 10.

So in Summary:

GREAT FILE

Now here comes something that everyone has been wanting for years.

What this is
This utility does exactly what it says. It converts any TSF levels into 1.23 levels. It works like a charm, doing it quickly.
Ease of use
This is very easy to use. all you do is drag the TSF level onto the EXE. It will then ask if you want to give it a name or overwrite the original file. After that, you let it run for a second or so and there you go! you can load it up and play it in Jazz2! (as long as you have the tileset)
10/10
Graphics
There’s no graphics to this utility but I’m not going to let that spoil the download. I’m not going to rate part.
Does it work?
YES! This program works like a charm. I’ve converted some levels without problems thanks to the update. there may still be bugs, but non that I can find. If The only way this could be better is if it made candy shoot out of the floppy drive.
10/10

final score: 20/20
Score: 10
Rank: S
DR? Yes. This is the perfect utility to help 1.23 players get the TSF experience. Download right now and enjoy! I look forward to more of the authors downloads!

you should make some extended version off this program. that actually opens and be able to select a couple of levels at once. the copy /paste takes a bit long and i can hardly open my jj2 folder with all those files in it.. could be good to have a program doing on the deskopt.

Well this is greatest utility to change version of level to 1.23. This could to be very useful in uploading levels for who got 1.23 version of jazzjackrabbit2.Is easy to convert it. I drag a level (Easter1.j2l) to J2L_Converter.exe and then the thing will happen.I must choose another letters and the TSF level converted to 1.23 version. The same thing is a upload rule which says “The Jazz2Online staff prefers uploads to be compatible with 1.23 whenever possible. Convert TSF levels and tilesets to 1.23 before uploading. Click here to learn the difference between 1.23 and TSF and how to convert files to 1.23.”. yes and this utility help this rule to be mentined totally. I always use this utility when I upload levels for 1.23 version. I’ll recommend this utillity.
