I keep wanting a perfect tileset, but I can't state what that would be.

Do you know any tilesets(the bigger the better)that I can use?

If it has some characters and objects from these games, I'd love to use it:

Super Metroid

Super Mario RPG

Chrono Trigger

Final Fantasy II

Final Fantasy III

Final Fantasy V

Secret of Mana

Secret of Evermore

The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past

I know that tilesets based on games aren't everybody's favorites, but I just want a cool tileset that can be a multipurpose tileset too. And I need help knowing what each kind of event does.

Special JCS discovery:

Rocket Turtle is a boss, so put him after the activate boss tiles.

Eight of those tilesets are from RPGS! You can't make a sidescrolling level out of those tiles. Download rpgmaker2000 instead. It lets you make RPGS. I won't say where or how to get it though, because it is illegal.

ACtually, with some VERY complicated tweaking we can make an RPG tileset...

Actually Metroid can be done. To do the rest you would have to be out of you mind! But on metroid.... *hint hint*

Hm.... I might be able to do it. But I won't because I don't need a metroid tileset. Give me TSF and I'll do it for you :P

No such thing as a perfect tileset, sorry. I have some cheap sonic and mario tilesets...no wait, not any more.

You could always take RPG tiles and make a ts. The levels would just look like crap.

JCS Discovery:

We already know about the Rocket Turtle. At least most of us, anyway.

Now as for back to on topic talk. The perfect tileset would be all tilesets combined in 1, with all tiles easy to find and fit, the size would be just like a normal tileset.

In other words IMPOSSIBLE.

IF you want rpgmaker 2000 contact me, its legal though.

RM2K is illegal. I have done some research on it, and form what I have learned by viewing the website of the original company, RM2K IS illegal, and because of the person who translated it (Don Miguel), they will not bring their future releases to North America. Don Miguel is protected by a some Russian law appearently, but he can be arrested if he leaves Russia. The original RPG maker 2000 was a japanese program that costs money, and the english version is hacked and is free.

Well, I found a Final Fantasy Tileset *finally* but it's in the wrong colors.

I like tilesets that don't have too many textured layers that are masked.

Now, I know not too many of you like him, but Cracco Boy CC has all kinds of tilesets with Fianl Fantasy Characters in them.

I also made a tileset recently based on the 8-bit Mario 1. (it's a very complete set with EVERY tile thinkable from the game, even the enemies' and hero's animations.)

It may not be Mario RPG, but it is good.

There is no perfect tileset, RPG tilesets are either crap - not perfect or very bad and for RPG games, not side-scrollers.

Case(s) closed.
