Why do tournaments always fail?

I tried to make up many tournaments, none of them really worked, I'm going to tell you the reasons and how to make a *working* tournament, especially for teams:

1.) Losing interest - Some people really want to start a tournament, they are making a site, JCF threads, etc... and then they just forget the idea and going to try something else because they think it's not that interesing anymore, or something. That's the biggest reason - Jazz2 Online 4vs4 Tournament was failed because of that, so did the 2vs2 tournament, and other tournaments I recently don't remember.

2.) No rules - People don't make rules and then teams\players flame each other and argue about "WHO WON THE MATCH", "IT IS CANCELLED OR NOT!!", "WE WON IT, YOU BAD REFEREE!!", "HOST IS LAGGING US!!", etc... that's the reason that TGC failed. Players always flamed each other and we couldn't run the tournament like that... making rules would fix this problem.

3.) Players\teams can't meet each other - Most of the tournaments failed because of that. American players couldn't meet europeans. I found a solution - you can just make dates and time for those matches, and then the players know when to meet each other and there are no problems. You can also ask the players for the latest\earliest time they can stay online to play JJ2. =P

4.) Losing matches - "I LOST THE MATCH SO I LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT, GOODBYE, I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE GONNA KICK ME". Just don't register this kind of people, which is the worst.

How to make a good tournament:

- Make clearly rules and ask people if they actually understand them.
- Be sure you are interesed on this tournament and do not suddenly stop it.
- Use JCF or make a website to place your announcements.
- Don't make ladders. One team will play 10 times and other team won't play at all, which is bad.

I think I already said everything...

It looks, that JDC is only one good JJ2 Tournament
I think we should do more to start JJ2 ClanBase Ladder...

sjees, burying a tournament before it even begun....
Pesimism is one of the reasons.
The 2v2 lacked only one thing, ragnarok getting it done, or as you say, lack of interest/time of the organisers.
So what do we learn out of all of this? make tournaments that dont need much attention from organizers, like jdc. OK ok, not to take anythign away from the JDC organizers, they make events and levels and all, but they dont have 2 judge or do anything like that.

I'll be happy to try and start completing some games as soon as I stop missing Unfish every time I get online.

well i wanted to play em 2, but i really dont know, if i will. Cuz there r quite a few problems; such as contacting yer opponents(and your opponent getting his partner etc etc...)

Uhms but i would say a 2v2 tournament would really be nice to have on jj2, so I hope this failure, if i may call it so already, wont stop us from having one in the future...(i still like the idea of having the 2v2 competition at the same time as jdc, and getting rid of 2v2's on jdc, as they have been quite debated upon anyway, cuz alot of people gained alot alot of points with em...)
