Jazz Jackrabbit - Shrunken Trouble

It lives !!!!

Jazz Jackrabbit Advanced is now Jazz Jackrabbit - Shrunken Trouble and I have finished episode 1. Im not sure if anyone is still interested but its back and its changed. The demo is nearly completed aswell just a few changes.

Story

After just coming back from the honeymoon on Jungrock. Jazz
just wants to settle down and have a rest from fighting all the
evil. After Lori goes missing , Jazz knows something is
wrong. Jazz , Eva and Spaz set out to find her and end up in
Devans castle. Out of nowhere a beam shoots at them and they
find themselves in a jar. They look outside the jar and can see
Devans big face laughing. Devan picks up the three rabbits,
throws Spaz out the window , jazz on the floor and Eva in the
bathroom. "You didnt expect that did you rabbits" . Looking
around Jazz knew he had to find his brother , his wife and
his sister before Devan could try to squash them. So as he
avoided Devans foot he made his way towards the castle door
trying to get outside.

Characters

Jazz Jackrabbit
Spaz Jackrabbit
Lori Jackrabbit
Eva Jackrabbit
Devan Shell
Daven Shell
Devans Cat
(All the enemies on the game)

Levels - Episode 1 - Finding Lori

(Give me some time and ill upload some screenshots of all the levels. Also all the boss levels were removed because they slowed the pace of the game and were too hard and all the same.)

Castle Of Nightmares

After being thrown out of a jar Jazz has escaped outside but he must make his way back inside to find his wife and siblings

Carrot Gorge

Jazz journeys back outside to a gorge (two rocks in Devans backgarden) as he makes his way into the deep wilderness of the garden to find Spaz.

Devans Bathtub

Eva makes her way underwater in Devans Bath walking on bubbles jumping on soap and jumping past Cranky Crocs.

Through The Castle

After exiting the bathroom via the plughole Eva makes her way through the Castle in a hope of finding Jazz

The Garden Of Devan

Spaz is lost, and is being attacked by ladybirds he must jump on rocks and leaves to avoid those dangerous mud pits.

Into The Sewers

Spaz has made a unsual friend a cat and not realising its Devans the rabbits set off on the cats back into the city in hope of finding Lori.

Hah, I love those little shrunken character sprites. Good luck on the game; hope to see a playable version soon.

Theres now a Episode 4 but that is only going to be done if I can. Its going to be secret and the only way to get to it is to add all the clues you get from Episodes 1 , 2 and 3. There will hopefully be 8 levels on this Episode. The demo will be out soon just needs a bit more work. Also im not starting Episode 2 - Journey Of Hope yet because im going through Episode 1 making levels longer and more complicated just so that you dont get bored because its really easy to beat , but not anymore. Ive finished Castle Of Nightmares added some new bad guys and removed loads of carrots (which made it too easy). The next level is Carrot Gorge which needs a lot of work because the way its set out it just guides you the right way and its the only level with a secret. This is a list of the levels in completion order :

Castle Of Nightmares
Into The Sewers(Originally called Devans Cat)
Through The Castle
Garden Of Devan
Devans Bathtub
Carrot Gorge

The only reason the demo has been so quick to make is because its v.01 (version 1) which means I havnt added all i need to it yet. Everyone who downloads it is testing it and it would be helpful if you can post here to tell me bugs. Im working on making at least 2 levels for the demo and 3 multiplay levels one for each mode.

I have also decided on a new mode , if you look back at the old topic Jazz Jackrabbit Advanced at the very end I was asking for ideas , well please give new ideas dont say CTF and Battle because I want something new at the minute the game modes are :

Co-op - Work together to complete the levels
Tag - Make sure your not tagged when the timer runs out
Stars - Collect as many stars as you can

(The level names below arent decided on and can change if you want to see a beach level or another type of level please say)

Episode 2 - Journey Of Hope

Im writing the levels down here just incase the pictures from the episode selection screenshot arent good.

Level 1 - Queen Of The Jungle
Level 2 - Temple In The Sky
Level 3 - Sailing To Carrot City
Level 4 - Still Sailing To Carrot City
Level 5 - Carrot City
Level 6 - Devans Rage

Episode 3 - Daven and Hell

Level 1 - Burn Castle Burn
Level 2 - Fire In The Sky
Level 3 - Watching , Waiting
Level 4 - Davens Castle
Level 5 - The Choo Choo Train
Level 6 - Searching The Castle

Episode 4 - *Secret*

These are where I will put levels that other people have decided they want so if you want a Disco level you might get a disco level

Level 1 -
Level 2 -
Level 3 -
Level 4 -
Level 5 -
Level 6 -
Level 7 -
Level 8 -

Kind of a big update but there will be more to come

Blunt as they come, ey, Unknown? I have to say, though, you might want to consider getting someone to improve the graphics, or simply spend more time on them. The player sprites are cute, but the rest.. isn't.

The Games Factory even hasn't a scripting language like GameMaker.

But anyway, when do you release the demo?

That's the point, yes. It has an interface, so it doesn't need a scripting language.

I tried the demo version thing. A scripting language would be easier to understand then the interface the Games Factory uses.

I think all the clickteam products use a pretty straightforward cause-and-effect type layout. For the purpose at hand there is nothing wrong with this. However, for something more complex, especially when you get to the point that the program is writing more than the programmer is, a scripting language can be very helpful and save you from creating a lot of needless variables.

TGF doesn't have support for 3D graphics unless the programmer wants to use the OpenGL extension.

Also, make sure not to use the anti-alias functions. That'll make everything look bad.

And the most sucking games factory thing is:
If you stand alone your game when you finished it, the .exe file has to open the editable file, and you even can't password it!

Err... yes you can. Just save as a protected file. And you don't need to include the .gam file if you actually use the latest version instead of an outdated product from years ago.

Ive started work on Episode 2 Level 1 Queen Of The Jungle which I think is my best level so far. However I am going back and forwards making this new level and editing the old ones. After I bring the demo out I'll start to put some screenshots of Episode 2 levels on.
