A spriting attempt...
I feel before I show the monstrosity, a little history is needed. When I was about 2 years younger, I attempted to make a sprite comic, which indeed, was awful. But there is where I invented the character "Sonyk" which is now the Username of everything I use, and my website's name. A little while ago, I tested my skill by making him into a demon, parts mostly stolen from Devan.
Well, here it is... |

Subpixelated.

I mean, you've got the body resized at 200%, and the wings/tail resized at 100%. That looks wrong.
![]() ![]() ![]() Your sprite should have the exact same little detail no matter what size it's at. Otherwise you're going to have some compatiblity issue or other, even if it is "why are your pixels bigger than mine?". Plus they use different graphic styles... black line shading vs. smooth Nick Stadler shading. No contest, but not a perfect mix. |

Oh, I see. Thanks for that little tidbit, I'll see if I can't fix him.
Edit: Fixed, partially. The only time the problem arrises now is if you shrink it, but it's really not too bad. I also added the shading style of the base sprite, since it really did look awkward. Last edited by Sonyk; Mar 17, 2005 at 04:04 AM. |

No, you've still got the pixels at different sizes. (And where did the tail go?)

Actully, those pixels aren't pixels at all, but just about 4 put together. (well, I guess that does make them pixels, but in a different sense) (And the tail isn't in that picture for some awkward reason, though I'm not quite sure why. It was late when I messed with it.)

Yes, that is what I am saying. The body has each individual dot be 2x2 pixels, while the wings are 1x1. This fails to even remotely look good.

Very well, it worked then. The point was for it to look different than the base, like being possessed. It's completely different, only vaguely similar to the color scheme. See, the point was to fit the backstory-ish idea when I tried making comics. He gets possessed, and turns into a demon-ish thing. When he's like that, there were ugly things coming out of him, i.e., 1x1 pixels. When I looked back on it, I doubghted myself that I could do it, and I tried, and it fit everything I intended it to.

Horrible attempt at making your sprite resolution consistent:
![]() I was doing this before you replied, so regarding your last post, you're basically saying you were trying to find a way to make the wings stand out right? Well if that's the case, you did indeed suceeded.
