has anyone tryed this?
has anyone actually tried to contact epic over the rights to the characters and source code?
if they really did abandon the whole jazz pc line, couldn't we pool together and buy the source code and rights to a 3d version from them? we could even possibly offer to form a child company that branches off of them and finish the game with the profits still going to Epic. so, has anyone ever offered them this?

I certainly wouldn't give money to a 3D game I know I wouldn't like. I'd be perfectly content with the (free) fan games currently being made.

I'm fine with the fangames aswell.
Buying the source code and editing jj2 would change the game so much that it wasn't jj2 anymore.

3D is overdone. Most new games are 3D if possible. Yet is LOZ:Windwaker better than LOZ:Link's awakening? No. A 2D game that is actually good is a rarity. (Jazz 2 is a rarity.) I would only pay to get Jazz 3, non 3D. It would also have to have new characters, weapons, and get this: Foreground, midground, and background level sections. I'd pay 47 bucks for that.
