Project 3 Interactive (formerally Project2 Interactive) had a "what should out next product be?" section in their fourms, and, everyone who replied to it voted for Jazz 3!!!!!!! and Project 3 decided to make the game. But the good news doesn't stop there, there's more. Project 3 is letting us, the Jazz2 community, decide the game's story (which Buster came up with an excellent one), choose the controls, the format, what type of game, little extras and more!!!! go to http://www.p3int.com/forum/forum.asp...e=New+Products for details... Okay okay calm down people.
*sense of reason enters* Project 3 never said that I read that they are actually taking up the game. I strongly doubt they are even caring about it other than that one Development guy. P3 does not have the rights. P3 has not done anything but ask for suggestions, not actually say they would do anything. Remember World Tree games? Don't get your hopes up people. |

Fireclaw's right. Epic and World 3 Games screwed us, but Project 3 at least seems interested with this game, unlike the other two, and this is the closest we've ever gotten to actually having a JJ3. In my opinion, Project 3 is our best chance, and they're a new company (a revived old one actually) and they want to earn as many fans as possible, so, it's not too likely they'll screw us, unless Epic screws us again by not letting P3I have the rights. So if Epic and Arjan Brunsee don't stop P3I, the game's as good as made.

No, it isn't. P3 does not develop games, they only publish them.
And, World Tree games and Epic were very interesting in the Jazz3 demo, but they were not able to find a publisher. If World Tree games had found a publisher, there would have been a Jazz3. But that was over a year ago and after they looked for a publisher for a long time, they just gave up. |

Um.. Please tell me how did Epic or World Tree Games "screw" us?
They tried to make a great game (and were well on their way). They did it without pay. They looked for a publisher, but none would take it up. And I sincerely doubt Epic will "let" anyone have the rights. Maybe they will license them, but just giving another company the rights to.. pretty much anything.. seems pretty dumb. |

By the way, should the game come out and flop, wouldn't you feel a little guilty for putting the company down the drain? The license is costly, and to a company that has entered the gaming industry and is currently debutant, it's worth a fortune. Just keep hanging on. ;-P

By the way, i wonder if Project 3 would publish the new JJ game into the US market.
Well, okay the ~350 million Europeans are a very big market, but i have the feeling without the ~250 million Americans (who are PC fanatics and JJ obviously has a large number of fans there, too) JJ3 wont get anywhere. Its all a question of winning or losing money i guess... |

they didnt take the opportunity with tsf, krsplat. remember that?
and actually its not about "taking an opportunity" but about money and possibilities. i dont know if project 3 has the infrastructure (people, partners, experience etc.) to publish games in the U.S. at all. |

Basically I didn't mean screw us, but gave up. Epic and World Tree games weren't able to finish the game, or find a publisher, ( Although they could have tried P2I now P3I) And there's millions of publishers here in North America. I can Understand why godgames rejected the project, but if they had marketed and advertised JJ2, it would've sold better. anyway, let's just keep out fingers crossed.

i don't think jazz3 will be made, only the real JJ-fans would buy it. i mean, there was Jazz 1, Jazz 2, TSF, Holiday Hare 94,95 and 98 already. most people who have one or two of these will have enough. there simply wouldn't be enough interest. everyone on this messageboard WOULD probably buy it, myself included, but companies don't make games that would only be bought by a few hundred people.
fingers crossed i guess |

Hope for the hoppy one!
It'll happen someday, but here's a point; I had no internet access when JJ2 came out, and only heard of the game through a magazine cover CD. I don't recall ANY ads for JJ2 @ all, and I think that to get buyers for JJ3, Project 3 are gonna have to pull out all the stops on advertising the game... |

Yeah, basically World Tree didn't do anything bad to us: they were the ones who were trying. As for Epic, well, I think they screwed us a little; I mean, maybe if they'd advertised JJ2 it wouldn't have lost so much money. I didn't hear there was a JJ2 until I saw the demo on a site. But mainly it's GOD, as they're the ones who won't publish it, and possibly Lost Boys, as Arjan stated he wanted nothing to do with Jazz for at least a little while.

Epic doesn't do advertising, the publisher would. GOD has more than every right to reject the game, JJ2 was the only game GOD ever lost money on. Arjan, has worked on Jazz stuff for a long time, its mostly all he is known for ever doing. From what people I've seen, he wants to be known for something other than just Jazz. I can't blame him at all. |

I met Arjan on my server once, heh, pretty cool stuff.

hehe that sounds weird...Ass(assin)..oh well anyway i think its kinda like this: what game do u ppl want? 1. jazz3 2. duke 3. unreal ok it isnt really true but the jazz thingie is right, right? ok now 300 ppl choose jazz3, 250 ppl choose duke and 275 choose unreal, and what do they decide to make? both duke AND unreal..but no jazz! UNFAIR |
Jul 9, 2001, 11:53 PM | |
That they made Unreal was smart, cuz such games always sell best. Duke just sucks and Jazz is good.
Advice: MAKE JJ3!!!!!
