Which console should a new Jazz Jackrabbit?
I have always thought that they should make a JJ3 on DS. What do you think?

Hmm, JJ3 to Nintendo DS... Not a bad idea at all. Or if they could do JJ3 game, then it should be maybe for Wii(do not ask). But DS would be good idea. Or they should just keep it as a computer game.
But thinking(/dreaming) of JJ3 to Nintendo DS.... Ah, it would be really nice... So we need JJ3 to DS, or I won't stop dreaming about it! xD

Theres no multiple choice options
![]() well I would like it to be on psp xbox 360 (ps3) and pc,ps2 games won't be around much longer. I would not mind it being on the ds,as long as the versions are different from psp.

PC! It could also have JCS with it as well. If it was on DS, it wouldn't have JCS.

I'm now going to tackle the points PurpleJazz brought up: You're not wowing me with the "YOU CAN USE TWO SCREENS!" because we have no idea if a JJDS would be 2d or 3d. If it's 2d, then sure we could have two screens, but you're going to have a better resolution on the PC no matter what. If it's 3d, two screens for game play would be horrendusly dumb. Winner- PC Tilesets drawn with a Stylus doesn't intrigue me at all. Just open up Paint, use the Paintbrush tool and try to make a decent Tileset. Heck, you can even use on of them touch-sensitive pad doohickeys I can't even remember the name of (just limit the size you can draw on it to the size of the DS touch screen) and use that instead of your mouse. Chances are, unless you're crazy good at drawing in small areas or with the mouse, even cheq will look better. Winner- PC You can download much higher quality samples on the PC for music, and can also record much higher quality music samples. Heck, once the DS has those samples what is it supposed to do with them? A music editor, perhaps? Jeezus, do you want Jazz Jackrabbit Paint or Jazz Jackrabit DS? Remeber, the DS can only hold so much space, this isn't a PC we're working with. Winner- PC I'm not tackling the online gaming, because I think PC can win with just one equation: World-wide Server Listing > Freind Codes |
Sep 9, 2006, 07:17 AM | |
Unless a good portion of the cartridge/card/whatever is empty, that'd be kind of hard. Unless, of course, it's all server-side. Or they make some special cartridge that stores stuff. Like a flashcart, but officially supported by Nintendo.
I don't have anything against a totally new JJDS but I still don't think it'd be as great as JJ3 on a PC. But that's just me. |

If it was an FPS - PC
If it was a 3PS - X360 (Or XB1) Sidescroller - GBA or DS

PC. However, it seems likely that Epic would release it for either the PS3 or the Xbox 360.

Shame on you for downing the DS, shaaaaame (Shuuuuuun the non-believer!).
Most all that has been said (negatively) towards the DS is not even true, I slap anyone who has wrongly downed the DS! To n00b: I already coined JJDS (and as you can see, it is 2D)!

Sony Playstation Portable (PSP): The Playstation Portable is Sony’s answer to Nintendo’s handheld market dominance. With a large wide-screen display, more powerful innards than the DS, and a media type capable of storing 1.8 gigabytes of data, the PSP is well positioned to change how we think of portable gaming.
Detailed breakdown: Technically, the PSP dominates the DS in terms of horsepower. With far superior hardware under the hood, the PSP is capable of pushing out graphics that fall somewhere between the PS and the PS2. This means that the PSP has about the same graphical advantages over the DS that the original Playstation used to dominate the Nintendo 64 when it was released back in 1994. However, other hardware differences make this a different story than that of the Playstation and Nintendo’s doomed N64. Whereas the PSP is basically a portable version of the current PS2 home console, the Nintendo DS includes a number of features that have never been seen in a handheld gaming unit. The PSP’s strength lies in its graphic ability, and the DS’s strength lies in its additional features and creativity. Let’s compare the two units point by point. Screens: PSP: The PSP has a 4.3-inch screen, which is gigantic in terms of handheld systems. The screen uses a letterbox resolution of 480 x 272, and has 24-bit color, meaning that it’s capable of displaying millions of colors with a quality that is unparalleled in terms of portable game units. DS: The DS has two separate screens that run simultaneously depending on the game you’re playing. While both screens are smaller than the PSP’s single display, they can be used in tandem to provide varying information, such as a map on one and your playable character on the other. Additionally, the bottom screen on the DS is touch-sensitive, so in addition to being a display device, it can be an interface. The included stylus pen allows for a great deal of variety in approach to game design and control. Comments: The screens on the DS and the PSP are equally cool, in my opinion. The PSP is certainly going to have more wow power with its wide-screen gaming, but the DS is going to be capable of more in the long run. This is a good example of the difference between Nintendo and Sony’s approach to the market; Sony offers the current home console experience on the go, while Nintendo offers a different approach all together. The psp would clearly be better for jazz 2,(the graphics)

1) Sony's answer to Nintendo's dominance was wrong...They still dominate(check sales). 2) I have access to 2GB of space on my DS(Meet slot2!). 3) I agree, the screen is indeed bigger, it is more powerful. Unfortunately that doesn't add up to a good console. 4) I don't see what N64's past has to do with your claim of PSP>DS. I'm sorry all that was claimed in that what seems to be a copy/pasted response to only compare the PSP and DS in an internal sense. Graphics don't make games fun.

You know what else I love..posing questions. ![]() I ask you this, would you rather be sitting back bored saying "at least it's pretty!", or mayhaps actually play and enjoy a game? If it's the latter, don't bring up 'size', 'horsepower, or 'graphics'. Because I could list a ton of games that are 17 years old and are a ton more fun than the current generation pretty games!

What about Wii?? That controler would make the whole thing look wicked. If not, it shoutld be on the same platform as the upcoming sonic, which is ps3 i think.
