Converting music without ruining it.
Firstly, I know nothing about how to use tracking programs. I would like to convert one or two .it files that JJ2 will not accept into something that it will. Modplug tracker can change the format to .s3m, .mod, .xm, and the like, but I don't know how you go about doing that without mutilating the song. Whenever I convert without changing any of the options, the song gets a very sour or off-key sound to it.
These are the files I'm hoping to change: mike05.it ck13th.it ckelusive.it medisyo.it (especially this one =( ) Any help would be appreciated. |

Converting around with mods is really inaccurate, especially from xm/it->mod/s3m, since xm/it are second generation module formats. Converting mod/s3m to xm/it should work fine though.

So is there any hope for .it files?

In other words, probably not. Maybe with mod2j2b or something

afaik jj2 can play .it files perfectly fine. it's just those few songs in particular which jj2 wont play, not the entire .it format as a whole.

Alright, mod2j2b made it work, but it still sounded crappy. Thanks for the help, though.
Now I have a new question: How do I convert a midi file to something JJ2 will accept? |

Google for MIDI2XM, it seems to do the trick. You'll need to find some samples to use with the file, but Google can usually find them.

I tried the program, but I get nothing but dead space when I convert a file with it.

you need GUS patches for samples IIRC
