Is there a difference between JCS versions 1.23 and 1.24?

Yes. I think JCS 1.23 is version 2 something and 1.24 is 2.03 (I think).

If anyone here runs the spy window all the time a CRC downloading error means someone is hosting a TSF level in TSF with the 1.24 -> 1.23 byte change.

no, actually, I think that's becuase of something else... I'll get incorrect CRCs even without 1.24 involved in anything.

Well... I generally get CRC for that.

Search for CRC on ask.com and look at this:

Quote:

Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)

The CRC is a very powerful but easily implemented technique to obtain data reliability. The CRC technique is used to protect blocks of data called Frames. Using this technique, the transmitter appends an extra n- bit sequence to every frame called Frame...

So it would make sense for it to get other errors.

JCS 1.23 is version 1.00 of JCS. TSF, I am not sure of.

The actual answer to the question is, yes there is a difference! The main one is that Tilesets can be bigger (1020 tiles in 1.23 and 4080,?) in 1.24.

Furtheron there also is one new enemie, and a hidden one somewhere in jcs.ini.

I haven't seen any new events in the TSF JCS, then again, I don't spend a lot of time in JCS.
