Palette Suite 3.00

It's been a while, hasn't it? Apart from a small bug-fixing release last year, there hasn't been a new version of Palette Suite for 5 whole years.

Well, have no fear! Palette Suite 3.00 is now available here.

It's been entirely remade from scratch, and has a bunch of new features. Possibly the most important new feature for tileset makers is the new "Use Palette" tab. This allows you to load a bitmap, apply a palette, and save the result.

But there's more to it than that. One method of applying palettes is by dithering. If you've tried this before, you may have found the result to be unusable, because the dithering bleeds into the background and neighbouring tiles. Palette Suite 3.00 has two features to prevent this happening: "Protect colour" and "Protect grid". You can now dither your tilesets with impunity.

Enjoy!

Okay, this will be fixed in the next release (thank you, Cooba!)

It doesn't affect anyone using Windows' Western character set.

With no further complaints/bug reports, I've uploaded version 3.01.

It's for making pallettes, especially useful for tileset makers.

snz, sometimes it's not nice to tell the truth

Also, how did I manage to overlook this before, I've been needing a palette editor again and all the new features sound perfect.

Version 3.02 is now up. Among other things, it fixes the delightful crash-after-saving bug!

Also, you can now copy processed images to the clipboard, so you can use another program to save them in whatever format you want.

"Disguise" is one out of several Artificial Intelligence posters we've got around for the sole purpose of imitating oldies to enhance these forum's mood. This one was easy to craft since its remarks are usually outbursts of smileys.

Kinda wish I'd make a new set so I could test this out, to me PalSuite is the holy grail of palette editing for tilesets
