Two questions about Jazz Jackrabbit 3D
I have two questions about Jazz Jackrabbit 3D:
- Is it possible to extract the Jazz model from the game and get it into an application like 3DsMax? So far I've only managed to get the textures from the levels. - In the game sounds there's a sound effect where Jazz dies and says "Man (-) (-)". Is this actually somewhere in the game or was it not implemented yet? Last edited by Brian; Oct 9, 2010 at 11:10 PM. Reason: I may not check in very often, but I know that a Filter Bypass is still against the rules. |

- I have absolutely no idea
- I don't think it was implemented yet, but I have a somewhat feeling they recycled voices from another game (ok, I know this theory sounds like nonsense a bit, but look JJ3 borrowed another games engine without actual permission, so it's somewhat possible, eh). I think it's been said you can find the voices/sound effects in the editor, but I'm not so sure because my freaking vista won't let me allow to open up the editor Ooopsies! I just think I gave a big clue that I... |

For the voices I suspect Conker's Bad Fur Day.

I have Vista too, but I found that the editor starts when running it in Windows XP compatibility mode with admin privileges. There is a mesh viewer in the editor, but no way to export the models.
I can't find the files for it either, I believe .u files are script files, and the other files are map files. |

After downloading several .dlls more than were with that editor fix pack you get a lot more freedom. It is possible to export but not all of them work. I got some trees and stuff exported to ut99 where you can them export them usefully. I'll take a look soon and find out which files you'd want to export.
As for those sounds, in the script editor they are indeed mapped to functions (special death and bonus death I believe?) I am not sure but I believe based on some of the code that they were intended for optional use in the unfinished multiplayer component, specifically the broken pit animation when you play on the map sky-high in deathmatch or treasure hunt modes |

A spambot advertising spam? That makes more sense than it should
