Why not notifications?

If there's one thing J2O needs, it's notifications. Let's not go too far as to make it a social networking experience, but I'd love a box on one of the margins of the homepage that says "x New Review(s)!" and "x New Picture Comments(s)!", et cetera, et cetera. It'd be great to be able to be notified if something you uploaded like eight years ago happened to get a random review, even if it's a quick review or a comment.

The Downloads index should have a link at the top to reviews for your downloads, which is similar.

Hey, hey, I never knew about that button before. Haha. It's useful! Must have been added since after 2005 when I kinda disappeared for a while. Well, that pretty much defeats my proposal for such a feature I'd say. It'd be cool to have a feature like that but obviously it wouldn't be anything groundbreaking for J2O if it were added.

Hmm, that's a nice feature, but it might be hard to implement. If I manage to come up with a way to do it without too much effort though, I'll definitely try to make it happen.

PHP's mail() function? Also since you are using phpbb, you may see how it is doing it and do it same way.

We're not using phpBB, we're using vBulletin.

It's not really a matter of not knowing how it could be done, rather one of not necessarily wanting to spend time or effort on it
