Jazz2 starts without plus with the following error:
The procedure entry point RegGetValueA could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll Good that all of the 6.6 versions are compatible and it does not affect online playing yet. Can rollback to 6.6g and still play normally. |

It looks like RegGetValueA was introduced in Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, so you must have an even older version than that. Fortunately there's an alternate function, RegQueryValueExA, which does basically the same thing. Unfortunately it is a worse function when used for strings specifically, which is exactly what we are using RegGetValueA for. But I'm sure it'll be doable.

Hello! Thanks for the reply!
Interesting information. I'd like to add that Windows XP x64 Edition [NT 5.2] is based on Windows Server 2003 and so it didn't really get much personal use and support. I do use standard 32-bit Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 [NT 5.1], which is probably the most used XP setup. |

Hi
i'am also a windowsXP user (but at this point, i have to say: i DONT stuck by using windowsXP.... it was my own choise, to use exactly that OS (operation system) - most people see Windows as a version, that is constantly being writing. i see it differently, i also think, the chosed operating system have to fit to the hardware. i have had very bad experiences with operating systems that were released after WindowsXP. of course, they also offer advantages, such as things that were built in where WindowsXP didn't yet have them, or even the running of modern software. But for me, installing this modern software was always a torture, and getting the whole framework thing to work was a even bigger torture. so I don't need modern software anymore, I can live without it. I've also noticed that modern operating systems are slower, in many things, than WindowsXP itself. . as i allready told i dont see "windows" as a version.. ~ i think the operating system have to fit to the hardware. . so i'am a person who has found their way back to WindowsXP . if you ask me, if my computers are old and outdated? No, they aren't. My Dell notebooks are very modern, ( they have a blue motherboard, if i use windowsXP, then the boot time here is only 15 seconds, without having modified anything here, to speed things up. ) . The main reason why i'm a WindowsXP user, is because I can get things done extremely quickly there, and I can also control everything that's going on. . // about to Disable things that i dont want It's not the same on modern operating systems here.. you have to see how far you can get here.. . i've also noticed that individual processes run incredibly fast on WindowsXP. so thats why i'am a windowsXP user. Jazz2 also works extremely fast on WindowsXP, but on Win7 everything runs somewhat slower. But you only notice that if you've played on WindowsXP for a while beforehand. Then you can see the difference very clearly. . . //about the new plus update, that dont works on windowsXP 32bit anymore? hmm.. strange, i didnt tested the new plus version out. at the moment i have my focus extremly much.. on the (real live) thats why i didnt tested it out yet, . But if it doesn't work, then it would force me, to host my own server, with an older Plus version, and all this just to play Jazz2? . . that feels somehow crazy Last edited by FabiAN[NC]; Oct 7, 2026 at 11:37 AM.
