On a certain other vbb message board I have a tendency to visit, little black dots appear on the envelope icons in the threads that one has already posted in. This is kinda handy, is it not?

I look to see if there is a an arrow icon next to the thread. If there is an arrow icon it means that there are new posts in that thread since your last visit.
