As the subject states, I need some volunteers to feature in my story. I also need some advice, I'm a good writer but have trouble with fiction. I may be wrong but every attempt has been horrible. I don't know what's wrong, why it's not, well, clicking. I'm a strong, descriptive, powerful writer, but when it comes to fiction I get a block, a small bit of a story will develop in my head but it just won't flow.
I'm also horrible with names. Places, people, it doesn't work. How do you guys do it? Is it really not as easy as I must be thinking?

Well, I have to admit this sounds the same problem I have.
![]() You can use a real name -- there are a few naming sites that you can search for -- or, if it is to be a non-real name, you can try imitating a naming style you like. 99% of the world's ideas are simply recycled from earlier ideas, you know. As for the fiction question, I don't know anything about that. I'm better at screenplays and such than writing a narrative story. And, of course, I'll join -- I assume it will be a typical rabbit story. Here is my profile. |

Naming? You mean like renaming the person without changing them? Like... Speedy, Codebrain, ninja-rabbit, leaning tower or pisa, unbalanced tower.
Maybe use a thesaurus?

Names
I'm pretty good thinking up plots, but when it comes to names of people, places, things, creatures, ect, im pitiful. Like, how did J.K. Rowling come up with Hermione, Hagrid, or Gringotts!? I have no idea... they say right handed people are very good writers, but left handers have the imagination. I don't know, that doesn't make sense...
Try to make up a name... you know how England was made, right? Put angle and land together, and then say 'angleland' over, and over in your head really fast... England. Anyway, I get names from looking at names of cities and whatnot in diffrent countries, like England and Finland have some interesting names of cities that are good last names for characters (and no one has to know you got them out of a world atlas). -Wild Angel |
