Funny; yet, true and sad.
Epic won't die because of unreal, with help from Legend Entertainment... not to mention the Unreal-Mods made by fans.

They are not, and I personally went to Epic's HQ and interviewed them. Expect to see products named "Extreme 3D Cheese Hunt" which puts you as an unnamed guy and you have to pick up various kinds of cheese, and different kinds of cheese give you a different amount of points. Fun for the whole nobody.

If they do make a Jazz3 I want Epic to keep the 2d idea and we could just tell them what most of us want in it so that they could make a game that would interest the public.
|
Jan 21, 2002, 05:08 PM | |
Yeah, but people that don't have 3d video cards usually get 2d games. Also, mostly everyone here at the message board would buy it. 557 members and counting. It might be worth it to Epic. Besides, the 3d jazz3 is pretty much dead. It would be easier for them to make a 2d one.
|
Jan 21, 2002, 05:15 PM | |
Er, no 557 sales would not be considered successful to Epic. JJ2 sold way more than 557, yet G.O.D. LOST money on it. So is 557 sales really gonna be successful?
2D is dead. All games nowadays have 3D and whilst I wish that 2D wasn't dead, it is. If Jazz3 is ever fully made, if you want it to sell and become popular, it'll have to be 3D. |
Jan 21, 2002, 07:14 PM | |
If 2d games are so "dead" then why are we all here today?
|
Jan 21, 2002, 07:19 PM | |
Janus, 2D games are dead in the sense that no major companies are still making 2D games, aside from the occasional RTS with 2D graphics. We are still here because we love the game. However, don't expect to see many more 2D sidescrollers breaking profit records.
|
Jan 22, 2002, 03:24 AM | |
2D games are dead, and we are the only 500 somehting guys that play it. Wanna compare that to MILLIONS playing 3d games? Sure, it's dead alright. Lemme compare company sales. If 1 million ppl played 3D games and 500 played a 2D game, then it would onviously be more profitable than a 2D game. Heck, 2000 publishers could be in competition in 3D games to equal the amount of profit a 2D game would make. There isn't even near 2000 publishers, and there re definitley more than 1 million ppl playing 3D games.

PROFIT!!
That is what prevents good games from being made, or (in the case of JJ3) finished and released. Sometimes the world would be a better place without money. NO WAIT, WHAT AM I SAYING? Instead, the world would be a better place if JJ3 were profitable, is what I MEANT to say! I'm Capitalist all the way. Another Jazz 2 fan who will never see JJ3 ![]()
