IMO, there are much clans, and not manyt ppl ( i think NO ppl) know all clans. So... Why don't make an "official clan" Image for each clan? They'll have to sign up for it at *a* site, and each image will have a unique number. With that number, you should be able to check the clan stats on the site, and with that numbers, copying "official clan" images cand be detected fast. If a clan don't have a site, ppl who want to join the clan can ask for it, and they'll get it with e-mail, ICQ or something. The "official clan" site will be something like a page where you can:

-Enter the number, so you can view clan stats (for all visitors)

-Edit the clan stats (change member count, and that stuff, only for admins and clan owner)

-And something more, like viewing a clan list (for all visitors)

Maybe smart, maybe bad. Decide.

This reminds me of the failed attempt by Syntax (I did a tad). We didn't have enough support and no one really cared about it.

I vote for forbidding clans altogether, there are not enough active players anyway, certainly not enough to be divided over the numerous 3-player-one-week-active-clans

Clans somewhat do 'cause ~~ungentleman-ish~~ competition and arrogance, cheating, lieing etc etc...

The ability for actual competition in this game was lost around 2004... ;[
afterwards... people have become more and more senile and arrogant than one could have imagined... ;[
