Lag.
Or, better... I don't know. Try doing... something. Don't ask me, I don't know everything. It's not my fault at all, so don't blame me. Of course you never did blame me, and so I won't expect you to. ;p

This happened to me before.
What it probably is is a program running in the background that is interfering with JJ2. As a temporary solution, press Ctrl+Alt+Del and close everything that isn't important. My specific problem was with the "Savenow" spyware. JJ2 would run choppily, so I would kill Savenow and JJ2 would run fine. Eventually I got Lavasoft Ad-Aware and got rid of Savenow for good.

Darn, you're not the only who has this problem, Dreama has it too and I'm trying to help her, it seems that NVIDIA didn't make the correct XP drivers, we should mail NVIDIA, because a system like that can run perfectly Jazz2 at 70 FPS.
I just wanna get a new PC to check that actually. I also was wondering if the solution could be this one: When you download the XP drivers you download a self extracting file, if you run it it unzips the files and runs the Setup program, but I was thinking.. What about if you unzip the .exe file with WinZip, then install the drivers IN the device manager by clicking "Update Driver", I think that could work, but no idea, give it a try, it could be the solution, good luck! |

;P By the way, my All-in-Wonder handles JJ2 in XP admirably with a solid 70 fps. ATi forever! ;P |

The newest nvidia drivers made my comp freeze constantly.

I see that nVidia have released new drivers (29.42). I'm gonna try them and see if that changes anything *prays*

A good indication about the cause of this graphics lag can be found by testing out both single player and multiplayer. If the graphics lag is not present in single player, then the main factor involved is the internet connection. If it persists through single player, however, the PCI utilization/simulation is not functioning properly. Instead of going with newer NVidia drivers, go with factory default drivers, or drivers that correspond more closely to the video card. Right now, the newer drivers are tending to leave PCI and older video cards in the dust, and are really unlocking the potential of the newer video cards. You can find the driver archives at NVidia's site. Realize that sometimes older drivers will actually do the job better than newer drivers, especially when the drivers are working for other variations of hardware as well. Windows XP itself may as well be the main factor here, since it will update your drivers to the latest in its database. If you have a computer from Hewlett Packard that installed with a version of Windows earlier than XP, you can find a driver update that supposedly fixes the drivers to cooperate with XP. Good luck getting JJ2 to work more smoothly on your computers.

Re: Jazz running extremely slow at 70fps...
I hate this bug. It's like I'm going slow motion and everyone else can pass me. I totally feel so cheated and handicaped if the game started to slow down. I was lucky enough and manage to survive holding the flag that long one time on some server.
As far as I know (when I used to have a 500 Mhz computer), if you're using a program that takes A LOT of CPU performance (like Gamehack or something), then run Jazz2, it will run slow. And my darn ISP can also cause Jazz2 to slow down because it keeps giving connection timeout and disconnects me SEVERAL times. I just wish I have a fast and reliable internet connection.

Just want to make sure...
To those who have Win XP and NVIDIA cards:
You have the Detonator XP drivers, right?
