Question How to make Mountains

I would like to know if there is a cheap (free) program that lets you make those really sweet mountains that are in the background of some ppl's tilesets.
If there is any way i could make mountains (besides piling a lot of dirt) pleaz tell me!

Thanx in advance!

Then remove the background, get rid of all the annoying white dots attached, edit the sides so it tiles, convert it to the palette of your tileset, shrink it to 10 tiles wide, replace all 0,0,0 with some other black color, paste it into the tileset, mop your brow, and start work on the rest of the tiles..

Post info info info...all you guys want is info ;)

DO NOT SCAN A PICTURE OF MOUNTAINS YOU EVIL RIPPER PERSON YOU!!!

Hehhehe, no, you go to softseek and look for free terrain generating tools (like I did all those years ago) and find a nifty little program called Terragen.

Since I'm such a great guy, I'll just give you the link so you can skip the entire http://www.softseek.com thing

http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-...ml?tag=lst-0-1

Apart from that, you're on your own, I'm at school and I dotn ahve the lil proggy here with me to guide you through all the steps that will take away the envorionmental effects on the maountains and remove the sky, but it can be done to make your mountians more easy to stick into the Jazz 2 tileset world.
If you want more detail of Terragen and it's nifty uses then ask and I will write more about that topic (grrr, I really need to make a tileset tutorial somehwere, someone say 'Disguise needs to eat bananas until they turn into apples' if you agree)

Also note that the mountains you make in here DO NOT tile. Chances are that you will get some that tile is zero, the best you cna do is get them to almost tile and then l33t hax0r them with PSP to make them tile. If you're too lazy (like I am sometimes) just make the mountains 20 tiles wide and set the x speed in the layer they're in to 0 (example in the Townsville ][ tileset in Wisety's Wonders pack here.) Apart form that you can also cut out the bottom part of the mountains so that they sorta dissapear into the floor (example in the Winterland Wonder tileset in the tileset pack mentioned above).

Know that the mountains in there weren't only generated with Terragen, but also edited with PSP7. Ah yes, PSP7 is the l33test l33t hax0ring graphics tool there is. Everythign I make I l33t hax0r with PSP to make it cooler, its just the best there is

Ok, thats about it for that, sorry I'm late, schoo, started again and I needed to do soem stuff then, I'm also uploading a set today I've been working on so I didnt have time to post here when asked, evil me, MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!

And yes, make a tutorial 'cause else you've done all that writing for nothing while it will soon be lost in the JCF....
