Are you connecting to the internet through a router? If so, which router brand do you have? Routers use something called NAT security, which often blocks access to less important ports, but ports that service games like JJ2. The way to bypass NAT security varies depending on the brand of the router.

A router is a device that shares an internet connection through more than one computer. If you have a Linksys router, you should find that the device is blue. If it is from Netgear, it will probably be black. That, I suppose, is the easiest way to identify a router. I suppose you may very well have a router from a different company, though. You might find the router near the DSL modem.
