We are outcasts...
Okay, when did this happen? http://www.epicgames.com/ Did anybody notice that with the last update the link to the Daily Carrot has disappeared?
![]() Apart from the "Epic Classics"-link, with which they are in no way affiliated, it's all Unreal now. *me probably being late with this and making a fuzz about nothing*

Why would they want the undaily carrot link on their site? So they can confuse their customers? (unreal customers that is, they don't get and JJ ones anymore.)

I have Unreal. It's cool. Kinda slow on my really sux0r 333MHz machine, but cool nonetheless. die, all you efil skaarjwarriors! heh...
anyway. like Krezack said, the daily carrot has become slightly less than daily. that's why everyone comes to J2O, and, by association, the JCF. stupid newbies! and considering i haven't heard of a JJ community this big since J2C, i'm willing to bet that this is a prime hangout for the few Jazzers we have left. Sentimental. Blah. YeeeeeW00T! ![]()

I had never heard of Unreal, Quake, Doom, Warcraft, Starcraft, or anything like that until JJ2 either.

Epic is... not the same Epic I used to know. I knew Epic MegaGames, a great little PC game company that made many really good shareware games. You could buy the full game from Epic directly. They made great games like Jill of the Jungle, and Jazz 1, and many many others. Now they have passed on to a new phase of company life, they have grown up, so to speak. They, however, have left us behind, all their loyal fans. Epic doesn't love us anymore!!! *sniff*

Ahem. Most of their loyal fans are from Unreal. Like 99% most.
Same with me, never heard of Unreal until Jazz2 CD case. Epic MegaGames is now just Epic. Epic is just Unreal. Everything else is just junk that sells for an unreasonable price of 30 dollars mainly because all their copies are antiques. ![]()

What's interesting is that Epic Classics seems to actually sell ZZT for a price, which has not too long ago been declared freeware.
|
Oct 11, 2002, 06:43 PM | |
What? This suprises you now?
I don't really care much if Epic doesn't sell Jazz2 anymore. The only things I'm (mad) about are the List Servers, jazzjackrabbit.com, and copyright crap, and getting the sourcecode. Other than that, every idiot in the world can love and squeeze Unreal until it's dead, I don't care. I'm content. Besides, I like having a really nice, smalll, tight community. Yes. I did notice.
Someone in #jj2 (ElectroPiZZa, I believe) told everyone. I wonder if Epic will replace it with a link to information on Jazz for GBA or just rename themselves to www.thosepeoplethatmakeunreal.com? |
Oct 23, 2002, 11:45 AM | |
What annoys me...
#1 that Epic dosen't seem to want to be known about anything they make except Unreal #2, though they aren't willing to be known as the maker of JJ2, they also refuse to sell their copyrwrite to an interested company that would make something else (if I heard right?) |
Oct 23, 2002, 12:00 PM | |
Perhaps they are kind of ashamed about JJ2? Well, the daily carrot wasn't daily any more for years anyways...but I don't like Epic for abandoning JJ2 that way. We still have a community, and I think we have the best online community there is, because here, everyone knows each other. Well...

Wait... That company has the rights to Jazz now... they might not be able to link to it as their site.
(wonder if we could buy it cheap from them XD)

Maybe they want everybody to forget who made JJ or even make everybody forget about JJ completely. But as long as J2O and my site

I suggest Epic change their name from Epic MegaGames to Unreal MegaFrags.

It's not like anyone visited jazzjackrabbit.com anyway. Their main buisiness is, after all, Unreal, so I can't blame them. Oh, wait, yes I can. They abandoned Jazz 2, messed up Jazz 3, and should be forced to watch 10,000 hours of Pokemon while listening to The
