Jazz 2 games - flashing graphics
I just downloaded a new video card driver for my GeForce 4. Now Jazz2 games have a flashing screen of the gameplay (a little to the right or something) every 2nd second. How can I fix this? And, does this also have to do with my refresh rate on my monitor? I don't remember what I had it before, but I put it at 85. Maybe that's too high or something?
What should I do? Did anyone else get this problem?

Well you can try different refresh rates. If you have the correct monitor selected in your system (ie, your brand, not some generic "VGA Monitor"), it will only display compatible refresh rates.
Does this problem only happen on JJ2? If it does, it might not be the refresh rates and could be something else. Try tweaking the display settings. Now may I ask which drivers you downloaded? Did you download the generic nVidia drivers (from http://www.nvidia.com) or did you download specific drivers for your graphics adapter? What specific video card do you have?

Well, I've only noticed problems in Jazz 2 so far (I have tried CC and Jazz2, and I assume TSF would act the same). I think I downloaded a general one. It was for GeForce cards and users of Windows XP. I downloaded the Detonator ver 40-something, the newest one, and this is strange cause it is certified.
Specifically? I have the GeForce 4 MX 440. |

Oh. Heh.
It's 'PowerColor'. I went and downloaded the newest driver from their website, and now Jazz2 works, but I think I downloaded an older one than I had before, which doesn't make sense. What is the newest GeForce 4 video driver? Because at powercolour's website, the one you download said: V29.42, and after I installed it it says in the NVidia list that it's 6.13.10.2942 (I guess you look at the last part I dunno. But I think I had a newer driver than that already. I think I need the newest driver for this other game that's giving me video problems, so I know I probably need the newest one. I just want to make sure I get the newest one - not the one I already have or an OLDER one. I want Jazz 2 to work and obviously that other game that's giving me problems too (demo of Battle Field 1942). What do you suggest? Last edited by Nadine; Nov 27, 2002 at 10:31 PM. |

I had this problem too once and a while but hardly ever, just restarted the game and it fixes, only with jazz2.
