MORE Arwen-- the best pictures of her yet

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1062492 (colour)

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1062522 (black and white)

-------------

BAH! Another arwen. Worked on and off on this one for about 4 days. I had hell with the hair. I used a reference *crap, I need to link y'all to that if I can find it amongst 200 bookmarks I currently have* and made it my point to get the hair the EXACT colours or atleast close. Shape, too.

Hair is the devil. death to hair.

Anyways, much improved compared to my others of her. Uhh, 70 layers on this one. I'm too lazy to name them, too... Stupid Me!

Comments and such appreciated dearly.
-----------

^-- lazy copier of her da details --^

Anyways, merry christmas eve everyone.

Days of work, 2 sketches of it, skill in colours and photoshop and knowing the face by heart, knowing the muscle structure, knowing the bone structure of the skull.. blah, that's about it.

I don't suppose that next time you do some airbrushing that you show the steps you take to get this far?

Unless, of course, this is some great secret of yours and you wish to be the only one who does it

That's about as close to photorealistic as you can get Wildie, it rocks. I notice as of recent your airbrush work has been getting more and more realistic.

Wow, pretty nice. I like how she even has the same eye-lashes as the picture you used as source! Very good.

Whoa... this is awesome. ;-P

I love both versions muchly. Your airbrushing looks FAR better than photograph work. And the realistic touch impresses me greatly.

Man, I can't get over how good this is. It looks almost identical. Your facial memory and drawing skills are so impressive. I mean, you even remembered certain hairs on her head! Awesome!

With the little hairs that went awry, why didn't you fix them? It doesn't have to look exactly like the photograph.

I don't belive it's real. I think you just took the photo, and made it grayscale for the pencil version.

It is real. I'm not an idiot. I spent 19 hours on it. Yes, I did use the reference, I can't do something like this from memory. If you want to hear something funny--- I ended up taking a ruler and tilting it to match her face on the photograph, then taping it to my monitor to get the percise angle of her face. Then I did the same for her eyes and lips and nose, ect, ect. It helps greatly. Just tape stuff to your screen for angles, it works great. On the hair, I had that picture sitting next to the one I was doing, carefully brushing in the percise areas of her hair. I wanted it as close as a photo as possible..

Another thing, if you look on the very right in the middle on the side, you can see a screw-up of mine.. *sigh* I accidently left the layer screwed up. There are layers for everything-- ears, lips, eyes, eyebrows, cheeks, forehead definitely *foreheads are a real pain considering the work to get them smooth as possible*, chin, etc. Also the hair below her right ear doesn't look too good to me. Need to fix that..

My next dev will probably be this picture of a vampire in a dungeon with the omega symbol painted in blood on a wall behind her. I love darkness..

Oh and might I add... her ear to the uhh, right, I believe is also very blurred and screwed up. I didn't feel like fixing it. Her hair isn't exact in shape, and the dots on the side aren't exact. You'll also notice on the original that there are designs vaguely visible to the eye, but they are there. I didn't put them in the picture. I tried, but the gaussian blur was overkill. The neck isn't exactly straight, neither is the cheek. There isn't a brown line lining her face like in the picture. Why? I dunno, just forgot it I guess. Last minute, after upload thing. Her eyelashes aren't straight, I've always had trouble with them looking 'clumped' per say. Her nose is more blurry because I'm no good at sharp noses. Otherwise they look.. blah.. Her hair doesn't fall straight either. I also used the Dodge Tool in Photoshop 7 to do the lightness between the designs on the collar of her tunic. Her lips are also lighter in more areas.

See? What I do isn't all perfect. It all has blemishes I find afterwards.

Having seen Wildie's work, I know it's not a photo (although my sister saw it on my screen and went 'Why are you looking at LotR photos?').

Jeez, you're right. If you don't zoom in, the picture looks perfect, except for the hair.

Too many replies to read.

Very photo-realistic. It's very well done. You've improved a lot since I first spoke to you a few months ago. Good job!

Her chin's a TINY bit off, though. But it's hardly noticeable.

And I never got to see this one in progress, nor the last one. What is wrong with you, woman?!

Amazing that you are so young, too...

Let me taste
Let me feel
I need to know what you keep inside
No need to speak
Just let it be
Carry out this wish for me let nothing interfere

Rise to submission
I'm still beneath in the soil

Discard your clothes
Let loose you hair
We're intertwined forever and have always been
Say the word
And I'll depart
Upon your lips dwells nothing but the meaning of my cause

And so comes the dark
Vibrant as ever before
Flowers already withered
In this endless winter of souls

The link gives a 404, and I don't see it in your gallary. I hope I can see this soon, because it sounds amazing. Four days also sounds like a really short amount of time for something this detailed, but I wouldn't doubt it because of what I've seen of your other works.
